Scared No Food to Eat

I am all good, well almost. I would say 80% recovered, no more coughing and the sniffles have stopped but I still feel a little hazy. Please ignore what you see above heh..heh...

Today, when I went to Jaya Grocer, I was greeted by long queues at the cashier counters.

It is not usually like this.

Come to think of it, the crowd at Aeon was unusually large  too yesterday when it was relatively quiet a couple of weeks ago.

Scared no vege to eat.
The organic vege section was almost empty.

So was the bread section. Oh dear. No, I didn't check the toilet paper section.

I guess now that the reality of the Covid-19 situation has sunk in deeper, people are scared. Me? Being a natural born hoarder I have lots of stuff in the pantry and freezer to keep me going.

So what did I buy at Jaya Grocer?

Kucing punya food nombor satu.

That's her protesting again because I didn't give her donuts.

You see, I was very naughty yesterday. Very.

My lunch today. I would probably be eating sandwiches this whole week. Haiz....

  1. Panic shopping over here too. Luckily we didnt get caught in such crowd because we bought ours few weeks ago.

Donuts!! Not so crazy about them s8nce I dont take much sweet stuff. The only donut I like would be the plain one or with almond

    1. Lucky you. It's no fun having to queue up with so many people and the risk of catching the virus is higher!

  3. I could never understand why people go into panic buying mode. It's a quarantine....not a curfew! >.< One can always get someone to buy the groceries on our behalf should we ever have to go into self quarantine. They could alert us and just leave the stuff at our gate without any need for contact.

I see your girl likes to eat tuna flavour. Cookie started liking Whiskas only recently but he wants the chicken & tuna in gravy. I noticed Shopee selling this 5 + 1 (at RM7.50), I bought 4 packs to start with (as I've never bought from this seller before). I actually thought the seller was kind enough to give one pack free but it looks like it was packaged like that from the manufacturer all along. P/S: I see your doughnuts follow a colour scheme that you like...black & brown...wuahahahaha! :D

    1. Exactly! It created so much inconvenience for the rest of us who were just trying to buy our regular groceries.

Ah! The chicken and tuna in gravy - my girl only likes the gravy. Haiz! She will lick it up clean and leave the solids behind. But she will eat when I refuse to give her any other food. So I avoid that one. This 5+1 packaging cost RM7.99 at Jaya Grocer and RM8.10 at Aeon. About the donuts hah..hah... I only took the chocolate ones and one blueberry (not nice hah..hah...) because the pink ones are strawberry and I was afraid it might have artificial taste.

    2. Haha, see...even our cats are fussy eaters! :D Cookie used to lick up the gravy too and leave the solids behind. After a while, he started eating the solids too. I've tried so many brands of wet food but he rejected almost all of them until Friskies (only one flavour) and recently this Whiskas (with gravy). His favourite is Monge but a can of that cost at least RM4! O_o He has expensive taste but I can't feed him that all the time, otherwise I'll go bankrupt! >_<

  7. Ha ha ha...I am not tempted by the doughnuts. Yesterday morning we were in one supermarket and it was quite normal but when I went back to the same supermarket few hours later, it was so crowded that I left without buying anything. My hubby is more concerned than me on stocking up on food stuff but no worry, we are prepared with enough to see us through. Thank God its not total lock down. I think your kitty is more interested in other food and not on its cat food.

  8. Same over here in Ipoh... ON Sunday, the grocery selling edible stuff were still full..but yesterday, it was like "free" one... edible stuff mostly sapu-ed except for those uncommon ones.. I couldn't even find a packet of flour... so I ended up buying one more kg of beras instead...:)

  9. Oh well. The government might impose curfew if the situation gets worse and many predicted that the quarantine might be extended after 2 weeks! I will definitely go nuts staying at home.

    1. Let's hope there is more compliance and that cases go down. Or else it would be a nightmare if a curfew or lockdown is imposed.
