Does This Look Lazy?

It was Sunday. And I was determined to have a fuss free Sunday. A Sunday where I could just relax and not get stressed up with cooking and washing up. Was it possible?

Of course not. There is no such thing as 100% relaxation because obviously housework is endless. You can never get it all done, can you?

The day before, I cleaned the house and got my partner's food prep done. Most of the laundry was completed plus some other nitty gritty stuff.

I had gone to Aeon for a preliminary grocery run to get some chicken so that I could have it marinated overnight. The marinade was a mish mash of tomato sauce, sweet chili sauce, oyster sauce, light soya sauce, loads of black pepper and some crushed garlic.

On Sunday all I had to do was chuck it all into the oven together with some (steamed) potatoes and sliced capsicum. While the chicken was roasting, I did some more housework. Arrghh!!!

Forty five minutes later, this tray of deliciousness came out of the oven.

That's what I like about roasted chicken. It is the sort of thing you do when you are lazy and it does not look like something a lazy person cooked.

Since the chicken was marinated overnight, the meat was extra tasty. I was very happy with this batch of roasted chicken. To make it even better, before roasting I placed some butter on top of each piece of chicken.

So that was my lunch with extras for the next few days.

  1. I am eyeing those delicious roasted potatoes. Yums! nope, not a Lazy weMan dish at all. you are so diligent to do your own house work. Just hire those per hour helper to do it like many people do lah.

    1. On no, I will not hire outside help. I have slight OCD and I cannot stand people touching my things. I have to do it myself so that I clean and put my things exactly where I want them to be.

  2. I would help myself to some of the chickens and potatoes.

I also wish to have fuss-free weekend but hell no. With kids and hubby at home, I am ever more busy, cleaning after them. Wahaha. Maybe when the kids all grown up, I could have a really relaxing weekend. That time they will do their own chores. Hehehe.

  4. Looking at the pics, I initially thought those baby potatoes were quail eggs ... now that's a combination I'd also enjoy - roast chicken with quail eggs :D

  8. Why your roasted chicken always look so tasty, delicious and presentable

Ya houseworks are endless, today done, tomorrow have to do again

I agree with Mun's suggestion, maybe you can consider hiring those per hour part time cleaner for your houseworks, to ease some of your burden because you got to work and you got to cook also, not easy

  15. Hi Phong Hong, I can only say 'Sui Lah'. Not to worry, at least you get down to do all this instead of ta pau. Sometimes, we need to pamper ourselves that is to do what we like without stress.
