Eat Meat No Stress

It has been two weeks into my carnivore reset and I feel good.

On one of the days, I prepared two pork belly meals.

Very convenient to eat at the office.

It so happened I had another webinar that day and I did not have to rush to eat during break time.

This reset has been good and I now value this way of eating even more. A clear mind and a calm demeanor is an asset as well as the feeling of being alive and awake.

Which helped a lot Monday when my brother and I accompanied our mother to the emergency room.

Mum had a fall last weekend but did not immediately want to go to the hospital, preferring to wait and see. Many people try to avoid the hospital which is understandable.

Long story short, she experienced pain in her lower back and had difficulty getting in and out of bed and from standing and sitting position. Her hand was also swollen and painful. Mum is tough, in spite of all that she can still walk and climb up and down the stairs.

So Monday, I suggested that we go to the hospital to rule out fractures. And there we were.

We spent 4 hours in total at the emergency room and consultation with the hand surgeon. Mum did not have any fracture on her backbone (thank God!) but she fractured a finger.

She chose not to undergo surgery and the hand surgeon did say that operating on a senior patient does carry risks. Mum will be 83 this year. So her finger was put in a cast to set the bone.

There will be a follow up next week.

In spite of the long wait, my brother was in good humor.

hah...hah...

  1. Surgery for seniors is indeed a risk, especially if they require anesthesia! Your mother is a lovely lady! Please give your mother a hug for me!
I like the quote and the meat looks so tasty!
