It started on the eve when my office dispatch (who was in a good mood) bought a packet of cempedak goreng for the office. Anyone a fan of cempedak goreng?
Well, I ate one too many. It was damn good LOL! Then it was dinner with my partner later in the evening where I had another carb fest.
The consequences? Bloating and fatigue. I felt sluggish and had low motivation. I had brain fog too. Not my usual (carnivore) self.
I imagine the inflammation going on in my cells and my mitochondria gasping and choking and eventually dying. Sorry for being over dramatic.
So it was time to reset and rewind!
At lunch I found myself at Fujisawa Kyanpu Bar (again) where I was seated at the bar seating (not that I was drinking).
There were four bottles of Homemade Kishu Nanko (Plum Wine) for sale at RM189.00 each on the table.
I wonder what this plum wines tastes like.
While waiting for my meal, I took a selfie because I did not do so on my birthday. My plan is to take a photo every birthday to see how my face changes with age. Besides the lighting was dim and dim lights are kinder to our features heh...heh....
This is how I am these days with my granny specs because I cannot read without them. Tsk! At 58, that is not surprising. If I do not have my spectacles, I would be squinting and holding whatever that I need to read far away from me. Terrible.
I once again took advantage of the (RM10.00 for 3 pieces) sashimi promotion. This time I chose salmon and hamachi.
This is the Salmon Shioyaki. Another option is Salmon Teriyaki. I prefer to avoid the sauce.
The salmon was delicious and I enjoyed my lunch that day. After my meal I took a walk and went to the bookstore.
There I found another bad behavior - someone left their gauze bandage on a book. Eeeeuuww!!!
2026 diaries and calendars are already out for sale. Time flies. In three months time, 2025 will be over. Gosh!

Amen π for the quote. I love ❤️ your selfie. Thank you so much for sharing. π I love children's books and the cat π one amuses me as well. I love the calendar. Your salmon looks scrumptious π
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you, Linda! I love going to the bookshop :)
DeleteYou look good PH. We should aged gracefully and heathy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy. I agree and that's what I intend to do hah..hah...
DeleteI love to eat cempedak goreng but sometimes they can be quite oily.
ReplyDeleteThe one I ate was well drained of oil and it was so crispy good although bad for health >.<
DeleteYou look really good. You took many selfies, right? Can put up a smiling one? π
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! I took only three and none smiling LOL!
DeleteI know that feeling. I eat way too many carbs sometimes and feel like a blob afterward. Glad you got some good sashimi to make up for it. Salmon always hits the spot. And yes, bookstores are full of surprises… some good, some gross.
ReplyDeleteHi Melody! Thank you for your comment. It seems to be a common thing that most of us do - overeat! I must cut back and be back on track.
DeleteThe quote gives people hope. I like your selfie PH. And I love salmon whether it is raw or cooked.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Me too, salmon is so good!
DeleteDear friend PH, thank you so much for your kind comments on my blog posts, I truly appreciate your friendship. I laughed today when I saw your comment on my squirrel photos, as you are the only one who "got" my "Let's see what she looks like at this angle!" LOL! You are fantastic, dear friend. I hope you have a wonder filled rest of the week and weekend!
ReplyDeleteWell, Linda, I appreciate your friendship too! You have a good sense of humor :) You too gave a good rest of the week and a fabulous weekend!
DeleteMe, me...I love cempedak goreng...but haven't eaten it in a long while obviously....coz it's really sweet! :O I also prefer salmon shioyaki to teriyaki coz the latter is, of course, again sweet.
ReplyDeleteAh! You are a fan of cempedak goreng too! The one I ate wasn't too sweet, just nice and I had forgotten that we can even eat the seeds. I used to love teriyaki sauce but somehow not so much now.
DeleteAble to describe the taste of Hamachi and tuna sashimi to me? I am curious and thinking to explore.
ReplyDeleteThe taste is mild, not fishy since it was very fresh. I am sorry I am not able to describe more. I think you will like it because it does not have a strong flavor. But salmon is the best!
DeleteYour description is good enough. Thanks for replying dear friend. Now I know I may like Hamachi and Tuna sashimi, thks!
