I decided that this week, I shall eat out for lunch. So no food prepping on Sunday except for my usual soup which is designated for the whole week's dinner.
This is the first time that I tried their chicken rendang and it was good. The sambal is Chinese style, not my favorite but acceptable. The ikan bilis was fresh and crunchy. I was happy with my lunch, the portion was just right for me.
Tuesday my tapau was again from Rice & Pot Empire. This time I had the Ultimate Pork Indulgence with kimchi soup, something that they did not have previously.
Siap got dessert some more when I got side tracked on my way back to office. There is this aunty who is selling curry puffs and nonya kueh outside Family Mart (the one opposite Alliance Bank) and she had been calling out to me but so far I politely declined until that day.
It was not too bad, very tangy and a tad too salty but nice eaten with rice (I should have gone with the regular portion instead of asking for less rice).
The kueh unfortunately was not as good as I had hoped. It was all starch though fragrant and nicely sweet.
I was so full that I did not eat dinner hee..hee...
Wow! Your food sure looks good. I still haven't figure out how to buy from rice and pot empire yet. Maybe wait for borders to open then only go pick up myself. Would you recommend the tomato soup or this kimchi soup?
ReplyDeleteI prefer the tomato soup. They are available on Grabfood but maybe no delivery to your area?
DeleteOk, so tomato soup it is then. Ya, grabfood says out of your delivery area. ☹️Next time when borders open then only I go pickup la.
DeleteI like it when they use paper box and paper container too. The nasi lemak with chicken rendang looks good.
ReplyDeleteI feel like having the nasi lemak again, perhaps with another style of chicken.
DeleteGlad to see the use of the cardboard box at Mamalee, food looks so very good too. The rest, hmmmm....!!! Is that tapioca cake? Bought some really nice ones here that day...but I shouldn't be buying often - sweet!
ReplyDeleteYes, that's tapioca cake but very little tapioca content.
DeleteOoo. Nasi lemak!! I want too. But I prefer Nasi lemak with curry. Don't mind rendang once in a while though.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the rendang to be drier, this one is very soupy LOL!
Deletenasi lemak rendang!!! yummmzzzz! i like both beef and chicken rendang!
ReplyDeleteBetween beef and chicken I prefer beef rendang!
DeleteThough the sambal may be a Chinese-style one, at least it looked like it had been properly cooked till dark (unlike some orangy ones) with lots of ikan bilis and onions. I like a good bingka ubi too...as long as it has more ubi than flour...hehe! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe sambal was not bad actually perhaps because I was distracted by the rendang gravy hah..hah... This bingka ubi is not nice due to too much flour.
DeleteMamalee, Annie 1 and Rice & Pot are out of delivery area for me, how sad~~~~
ReplyDeleteAiyo...got to wait until can cross district. Then you can come to Uptown and makan2.
