Then my cousin (the little bird) sent her a picture of the taufu that she cooked in her air fryer.
My auntie's air fried taufu.
See, she is so motivated and so stoked. From "haven't open the box yet" to all these wonderful food.
At the time, it cost RM1,599.00 and it looks like the price has dropped. After about two weeks, delivery was not forthcoming and I was refunded. Hence my decision to buy the PerySmith one.
Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. I should try out a cheaper one first to see if I actually like using an air fryer.
So. When? When am I going to masak-masak with my air fryer? After seeing all the wonderful food my auntie has cooked in her air fryer, you bet this weekend I am firing up mine heh...heh...
By the way, let me leave you with some of my auntie's pretty blooms.
We got one from my brother-in-law's daughter. our niece working in Singapore. Very nice, very convenient to use - missus uses it a lot but we got the smaller one, cannot air-fry one whole chicken.
ReplyDeleteMine is also small and can fit only two chicken legs. I tried using today and was very pleased.
DeleteI wanted to buy this type for my wife long ago but it never took place. She has been using the oven type that functions like air fryer to roast her chickens. I think after using for a while you might need real oil to fry everything. Using air fryer has difference as told by friends. Healthier cooking is the objective for health freaks. We will never see any top notch restaurants in the world using air fryer in their kitchens. I might order a cheapo one for my wife as a surprise gift.
ReplyDeleteChicken, Ma! Chicken!!..... LOLOL This mama is so creative to cat-talk.
Have to spray oil on the ingredients before cooking. I just experimented today, will blog about it soon. I think your wife will love the air fryer. It is very efficient for roasting/grilling small amount of food for one or two persons.
DeleteI want Chips!!!! sweet potatoes chipsssss…..Looking forward to see what's coming out from your new toy ;-)
ReplyDeleteeh Belle didn't request anything yet?
Poor Belle stays outside so she does not know what is going on inside the house LOL! Will blog about my air fryer experience soon.
DeletePoor poor Belle! She is such an indoor cat when she was living inside your house, never ask to go out at all.
DeleteMine is Sugawa... I used it for chicken too... but not as nice as your auntie's chicken wings... hers looked crispy.. I wonder what I did wrong, mine is whitish cos I just rendam with pepper and light sauce..maybe I need to put black sauce... hahaha... tried doing arrowroot but couldnt get the crispiness too.. maybe need to sprinkle some oil over...
ReplyDeleteMust spray some oil on the chicken wings so that it becomes crispy. I just tried a few types of food today. Very happy :)
DeleteThey say air-fried chicken does not taste like good ol' fried chicken fried in a kuali of oil...hah..hah! I wouldn't know as I've never tasted air-fried chicken. For me, it's the idea of washing the fryer that turns me off. I once bought a deep fryer (that looks almost similar to this air-fryer), used it once (maybe twice at most) and had to deal with cleaning the fryer that I gave it away when the charity truck rolled by. Oh, Cookie also concurs with Ah Girl...chicken, Auntie PH, chicken! :D
ReplyDeleteOf course, nothing beats good old deep frying with loads of oil hah..hah... I haven't tried doing an air fried chicken yet but I experimented today on grilled/roasted wings, chicken legs, broccoli etc and was quite pleased with the results. Will do a post on that soon. Washing is actually quite easy as the surface is non-stick.
DeleteYour auntie is really making full use of the air fryer and I am now very tempted to get one too. Potato chips look good, so is chicken wings and fish n chips. Girl wants chicken. Looking forward to what you are going to cook with your air fryer.
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend it hah..hah... after using it for the first time today. Will do a post soon.
DeleteWow! Your Aunt is having so much fun with her air fryer. So you will start having fun with yours this weekend? I wonder what you will cook. I guess chicken because then all 4 of you can eat the chicken.
ReplyDeleteI had fun too today and will do a post on my air fried food soon.
DeleteOoh! The food looks amazing. I have a Phillips air fryer which i used maybe twice or 3x but have put it in storage now. Food was fine but my boys prefer the ones cooked in the kuali:) I may take it out once i see what you do with yours :) Maybe tempted to try...Chicken would be the easiest to test on I guess. Have fun over the weekend with your new toy.
ReplyDeleteI had some fun today with my air fryer! Yes, I will do a post on it soon. I rather like it as it is quite efficient when it comes to roasting/grilling small amounts of food for one or two persons. The food cooks really fast.
DeleteMy Philips AF is quite an old model which I won from a cooking contest when air fryer was firstly introduced. Sent for service once so far, and it is still one of my favourite kitchen appliances :)
ReplyDeleteI believe my air fryer is fast becoming my favorite too. Tested today and was very happy!
DeleteEveryone is talking about air fryer. Good or not?? Healthy or not? My hubby even asked uf I am interested to get one as his friend told him it is good. I am still undecided.
ReplyDeleteI find that it is good. Tried it today and was very happy with the results. If you are thinking of getting one, you need a bigger one than mine for a family of four.
DeleteWho is that little bird? let's shoot the bird and make goreng puyuh berempah in the AF. Can use AF to make yong tauhu, very convenient :)
ReplyDeleteOh no! I don't want to eat you! hah..hah... You are very expert on air fryer cooking. Yong tauhu also can make ah? Amazing! Must thank you for inspiring my Ee Ee and she in turn inspired me!
DeleteI think my youngest sister has a air fryer, wonder what she had whipped up with it.
ReplyDeletemy air fryer just broke down recently. I'm gonna get a new air fryer and make more awesome stuffs out of it!
