It's Christmas! Nothing special going on for me today. Come to think of it, what had I been doing for Christmas all these years?
Well, in 2014 it seemed more interesting than today. This is me and Girl's second Christmas together. I don't remember what we did last year.
These days she is the one who goes gallivanting all over the neighborhood. She only comes home for makan time.
While some of you are enjoying a roast turkey lunch (or dinner tonight) I had my favorite thing.
Complete with Korean crockery and all. No kimchi because no more stock in the fridge. Also no need banchan because that big ass bowl of kimchi jigae will fill me up just fine.
Ohhh... I love the egg yolk! And because anything kimchi related is not Girl's favorite, she did not hassle me for her share. Instead, she just kept me company while I ate.
Oh! I did make something sort of festive today.
My brother had a more exciting lunch - lamb shank from Serai via delivery.
We're having lamb shank too...but for dinner. Did not have it last night, Christmas Eve as my sis had duty in church, couldn't make it. Watch out for my blogpost on it, eh?
ReplyDeleteOh! I am looking forwards to your lamb shank!
DeleteHere's wishing you and your family of girl girl and belle and your partner a blessed Christmas and new year ๐๐! Wah, you even have those korean little clay pots where they serve kimchi jigae. Keng! ๐ช๐So does Belle sleep at home or overnight at another house? Hhhmmm, could she be two timing you but still tam chiak so eats at both houses and will turned even bigger like gozilla?
ReplyDeleteYou reckon? I read that cats are capable of doing that. Lately Belle is only seen early morning and then she comes back only in the evening. She must be hanging out somewhere else. Naughty!
DeleteI have eaten serai's lamb shank. It is tasty and big portion but maybe not big enough for your brother. Serai now has all its dishes for delivery.
ReplyDeleteI read about your Serai experience a while back. I want to go to Serai again.
DeleteLooks like Girl was trying to wear your slipper. Belle has grown big too. Oooh, I love your cashew nuts and the lamb shank. We had a quiet stay at home Christmas joining online Christmas service since we didn't go to church this Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Stay safe.
ReplyDeletehah..hah... she likes to slip her paws in as if she is wearing my slippers. Most of us are likely to have had a much quieter Christmas.
DeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteIn past years, we went to church on Christmas Day. Not this year. Usually we hang out at the mall but today, we went to my cousin's house for Christmas lunch.
How nice! You still can visit family and enjoy a meal together.
DeleteOh look at the runny yolk! I had Japanese food on Christmas Day. Yums!
ReplyDeleteHow nice! I haven't had Japanese food for a long time :(
DeleteAdvance Happy New Year 2021 to you and your partner, Girl Girl and Belle!
ReplyDeleteThank you and same to you and your family!
DeleteWhen I saw the first photo, I thought you had your fav kimchi jigae outside only to realise later you now have Korean crockery at home. Well, since you like Korean food so much, it makes sense to get the crockery as well for a complete experience...hee..hee! ;) Yeah, you're right, I had a roast turkey lunch at a family gathering. Sorry for my late Xmas wishes here (to both two-legged & four-legged inhabitants in your house...haha!). P/S: Your air fried spiced cashew nuts still looks like a tray of nuts you roasted in the oven...lol. Any difference in taste? Never figured your brother to have flowery-looking plates like that (it looks like one of those old CorningWare design).
ReplyDeleteEh, don't worry about it. It's the holiday season and thank you for sparing your time to wish me (and my lahling and my two furry anak2) and leave your thoughts. Of course the air fried cashew nuts look no different from oven roasted ones. After all the air fryer is basically an oven that has the reputation for making make-believe fried chicken hah..hah... You and I are not fooled are we? hee..hee.. That old flowery corningware plate I think either belonged to my mum or my auntie.
DeleteMerry Christmas! I am late cos I was busy partying. What SOP?.....
ReplyDeleteYou really raised my eyebrows to see your complete Korean bowl and chopsticks with spoon. I surrender using their flat metal chopsticks which I am hopeless at gripping the food. You should buy their Korean Hanbok costume to wear while eating with your Opah! LOLOL
It is never too late! Somehow my kimchi jigae taste better in the Korean bowl hah..hah... I find them metal chopstick slippery but I bought them anyway to complete the picture. If I wear the Hanbok, I will look like a big fat cabbage ready to to kimchied. LOL!
DeletePH, wishing Happy New Year 2021 to you & family!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Same to you and yours!
