My Flower

I have been feeling rather sluggish lately. So sluggish and no mood until I didn't bother to touch up my hair. Half my head was white ala quasi nenek kebayan.

And then when I was at the post office, the sweet young thing behind the counter called me auntie. I am very pantang when people call me auntie. Tak suka.

So last Sunday, I took the trouble to touch up my hair. Hence I could not do any cooking because DIY hair color is very time consuming. Hopefully I don't look like auntie now.

In my garden, a pink Spider Flower grew in one of my flower pots. In the past, I scattered the seeds harvested from earlier blooms onto the ground and into my many pots.

It's such a pretty flower but very susceptible to attack by caterpillars. So I have to be vigilant.

Girl has been very nice lately, staying inside whenever I am at home.

But sometimes I want her outside especially when I want to clean the house. I used to turn on the vacuum cleaner and she would bolt outside but these days, she just runs upstairs for cover.

I discovered recently that she has been very chummy with my neighbors. One neighbor remarked that she is "everybody's cat. Every house also she goes, no loyalty whatsoever." (hah..hah...) And right before my eyes, Girl did belly rolls for this neighbor. Haiz...

It's OK Girl. Mommy does not mind you bringing some joy to the people in the neighborhood. As long as you behave and come home to Mommy, it's all right.

Meanwhile, Belle is doing fine. She is more confident now and does not cling on to the spot at my front door. These days, she goes about jalan-jalan and comes home when it is time to eat.

I saw these boxes of oranges at Aeon last Sunday. Alamak, Chinese New Year is coming and Santa is not even here yet.

Ma! Next year I want ang pow.

  1. Hello, Auntie!!! I am amazed as to how many people dye their hair, male and female alike. You go out these days and you will see all the "silver foxes" running around. Can't DIY and no money or no time or not safe to go to the salon.

Gee! Your flowers sure look nice!!! Mandarins? No, thank you! Nanti batuk batuk people think you have COVID-19!!!

    1. Hello, Uncle! LOL! I have seen some very attractive silver foxies who carry the grey haired look beautifully. Alas, I am not one of them.

Thanks. I am not a fan of Mandarins anyway.

  3. I am already "immune" to people calling me auntie lol. Sometimes so scare of hearing CNY songs etc as it means I am another year older. Thanks for sharing photos and update of Ah Girl and Belle, they are so cute especially Ah Girl, fat fat one.

  4. I think you are not aware that Bigens brand has the best and easiest hair colouring. Just press 2 tubes onto their special comb and swipe through the greying areas. Less than 25 minutes and you can wash it. Aunty will manifest into Leng Lui in no time. Try to wear mini skirt and act Bimbo by doing Tik Tok dance! Muahahahaha

This uncle TM will go to play basketball with his nephew this afternoon. What uncle? I am still teenager la.

  6. Don't worry about Ah Girl being chummy with the neighbours...you're her mommy and you'll always be no. 1 in her heart. As for her doing belly rolls at the neighbours's houses, it's natural. Cookie does it too each time he's let out of the house. He will do a belly roll in the houses to my right and left as far as my eyes can see (don't know if it goes beyond that) and in my porch and just outside my gate too. I think they do that not just to amuse us (and look cute in the process) but to mark their scent and claim their territory (their way of telling other cats that the next two houses are their domain too). P/S: Next year she wants angpow...what about this year's Xmas gift? ;D

    1. Am I so relieved and comforted by your words! I couldn't help feeling a little jealous and possessive hah..hah... Seeing that Cookie dose that too, it must be a natural and normal thing. Oh, please don't remind Girl that there is such a thing as Xmas gifts. LOL!

  8. I have lots of white hair since primary school and I never bother colouring my hair, not even once. Get called auntie all the time even by people who are much other than me, those grannies and grandpas also call me auntie. Sweat big time. 😱Thanks for girl girl n belle photos. Hope they both stay safe since they like to rayau rayau. 🙏

    1. Oh dear hah..hah... I had a classmate in secondary school who had a head of white/grey hair. It's a genetic thing. Both Girl and Belle seem to be all right, they come home every evening for their makan.

  9. I've accepted people call me aunty as other than address me as aunty, I don't know what else is more suitable for my age. ~>_<~
