Covid-19 MCO : Day #6 (Spicy Spicy)

It's day #6 today and I have had enough of soups. I am starting to get tired of my own cooking. Eh? So soon? wahahaha!!

I miss curries and the spicy stuff. For the past few Sundays before the RMO started, I had been ordering food from Macha & Co. The branch at 1 Utama survived only for a few months (if I am not wrong) and that did not give me a good impression.

But...when I tasted the food (from The Curve via Grabfood), I was quite surprised that it was rather good. So I was a little bit addicted. But now with the RMO, the restaurant is closed.

I attempted a dry chicken curry which I saw on Youtube. I'm afraid it did not taste good.

But the spicy potato dish was awesome. That was my dinner.

This morning I did a spot of gardening.

My basil plant is doing quite well.

My mint developed runners and I am trying to propagate another pot.

My daun kesum (laksa leaves) is also doing fine.

I am re-attempting planting celery because the last time Sam the Snail snacked on it. Fingers crossed this time!

I am also re-attempting daun soup (Chinese celery) because, yup, you guessed it, Sam also walloped the last one.

Yesterday evening I binge watched House of Cards on Netflix while trying to amuse my cat. She loves having her ears massaged.

Then she fell asleep.

Doesn't she look adorable all curled up like that? I figured she was feeling cold from the air-conditioner.

So I tried to wrap her up like nasi lemak. She did not object.

Lunch today was the last of my frozen soup.

Shall I call Grabfood tomorrow? wahahahaha!!!

  1. I am so impressed with your basil and mint leaves growing so healthily!!! Tell me that I am correct you used Lahling's urea as fertilizer! Lolol

Your cat would love it most when you scratch under its chin and neck area continuosly. They would float to heavens!

You should help all the ailing restaurants out there by ordering one meal per day through delivery. Now the government will definitely extend the lockdown another 2 weeks and all my hair will turn white before dropping off.

Another 2 weeks? I hope not. But if it happens, I will have to turn to Grabfood at least every few days hee..hee...

  2. My mint and basil, all die off. Maybe I didnt take care of them. No plan to grow them.

I never try those food delivery. Hands are itchy, cause I am bored of my cooking as well. Lol. Now is the good time to try and order.

  4. Heehee...I also cooked a spicy potato dish for dinner today...except mine had additional fried ikan bilis! ^.^ Yes, cats like their ears rubbed....and they also like to be covered. My, you're very trusting of your cat with your legs! >_< I don't trust Cookie with my legs coz sometimes he likes to bite when you least expect it (some say it's their way of giving us love bites). O_o Looks like we can't get tired of our own cooking just yet as we may have to endure for a further two weeks. :( I finally managed to get my stock of pork today (went early before 8am and didn't have to queue).

    1. Oh! Yours is Malay style spicy potatoes (which I want to cook too) and mine is Indian style hee..hee... My cat prefers to bite my hand hah..hah... She bites my foot when she is impatient with me like when I am slow to respond to her demand for food. I will be going to buy pork in a few days time. Since there is a possibility of the RMO being extended (I hope not!) I might buy more.

  5. Wah, you have got green fingers! why wasn't the curry chicken nice? the potatoes dish look good but would be too spicy for me. I have eaten at macha and co once at one utama and found the food to be very salty. love the way your pretty cat sleeps on your leg and the way you cover her. wonder what will you eat tomorrow.

    1. Usually I use a mix of ghee and oil but this time I went all ghee and I found the ghee smell way too strong. I agree with you that Macha and Co. food is on the salty side.

  6. I love to look at cats sleep curling up like that. So adorable lah. Your potatoes look tasty, but same as mun, no spicy food for me. Food delivery are more expensive than outside food in sg, if not, i would try it more often. I am getting tired of the food in my neighbourhood.

  10. Talk about potatoes, let me share my story.
I was anticipating for my online veggie purchase which included potatoes because I wanted to cook curry chicken since the 2nd day of MCO. So when I got the pottaoes in my hand, I air fried it in the afternoon and planned to cook curry for dinner. Mana tau, when I looked for my air fried pototoes in the evening, someone told me he finished all! Can you imagine my feeling and my pot of curry chicken without potatoes? ~>_<~
