Date Night at MyTown

It is very rare that my partner and I venture out of Damansara Uptown. For our Saturday date nite (that is if I work or else I would cook dinner) it is either Starling Mall (or restaurants in the vicinity) or 1 Utama. We are so predictable. The only other time we ventured out, I got drunk hah..hah...

But one Saturday evening we had to run an errand at MyTown Shopping Centre. Was I excited? Well, I was, at the prospect of dining at some new place, not so much of the mall. You see one mall, you see them all.

It was a typical Saturday evening. Lots of cars. We were entering unfamiliar territory. But we got there eventually.

First stop is to fulfill our mission.

To pick up a race pack. No, no, not for us but for his boss.

Next mission, makan! But where?

There were a few choices.

I am OK with anything but my partner's palate is more limited.

We went up and down, searching.

Then it was narrowed down to either this :

Or this :

Although I had my heart set on Ramen Bari-Uma, I chose Pho Street (to my regret), because I noted that my partner is not partial towards ramen when we were at Menya Musashi

My partner chose chicken pho, just like he always does when we are at Pho Vietz.

I like vermicelli salad and had the one with beef. It was all right, not as good as I had expected.

We enjoyed our shared passion fruit drink.

The spring rolls were just so so. After the dinner, my partner was still feeling peckish.

As we walked around, we spotted this.

Ice cream!

Why not, eh? Three scoops each.

My partner had the mint, lychee and chocolate. I know. A rather strange combination.

Me, I stuck to vanilla, chocolate and I can't remember the other one. Oh dear. I think it was a cherry or berry.

We both agreed that the ice cream was not that great. It had a doughy chewy texture. Even the flavors were not that good. But that's just our opinion. We still prefer Baskin Robbins

And with that, we would most likely not return to MyTown since it's really out of our way.

  2. imho, the eateries in MyTown is so meh when compared to 1u and Starling. I think Bari Uma Ramen would be a better choice for you.
