Salted Egg Crab Seaweed Tempura

One day, I was out of the office and when I came back, I saw this packet of snack sitting on my desk. Apparently, my brother came by and he dropped off this very tempting something for me.

I did not open the packet right away but took it home. Believe it or not I confronted this snack with zen-like calmness and had the resolve not to touch it for two whole weeks.

By the way, a week or two earlier, my brother dropped off another munchie for me (again, I was out).

It turned out to be pork rind. How exciting!

The oink oink rind was very crunchy, something like keropok. It was not flavored, just natural taste with some light salting.

It was rather addictive and to amp the flavors, I dipped the rind into BBQ sauce/chili sauce.

Now back to the Singapore Salted Egg Crab Seaweed Tempura.

I finally opened the package. Ooohh... very generous coating of batter and salted egg yolk. And yes, it was crispy and crunchy.

There were curry leaves in there too. So fragrant!

So addictive! So crunch! crunch! crunch! And you could taste the salted egg. It's savory and not sweet unlike some salted egg snacks that I have eaten.

I actually had this after my Dahmakan Salted Egg Beef.

So I had double dose salted-egg-something that day.

So good! Gah!!

I asked my brother how much this this cost him. I expected it to be very expensive. Salted egg things are pricey. Singapore some more.

My brother paid RM27.00 for it. I ate a very expensive snack that day. If you are interested, my brother got this from Village Grocer. Thank God they don't sell this at Jaya Grocer. Or else .......... hee..hee..hee...

By the way, I will be taking a short break and I'll see you with another post next week. See ya!
