Halla Hoot

Last week on my way to Damansara Jaya, I went to Jaya Grocer at The Starling.

After I picked up some stuff, on the escalator going up, I couldn't help noticing the high heels in front of me. I quit high heels centuries ago.

It did not look comfortable and in my mind, that must be painful.

I was hungry, so I stopped at Halla Holla. And guess what? The Thai restaurant that I mentioned in this post is no more. Kron Thai Cuisine did not survive.

In its place now is The Neighbour Hoot. Good luck to this one. I'll check them out one day.

At Halla Holla, I resolutely stuck to staying carnivore.

There were loads of sourdough loaves and pastries at the counter.

The Flat White was awesome.

I had 6 eggs. Very satisfying and satiating. The lone egg on a separate plate looked like an afterthought. Like, ooppss we missed one more. And it was overcooked.

Back at Damansara Utama, a new Japanese restaurant is opening soon - Nikuno Yoichi. It's right next door to The Ship.

The Ship is still sailing standing after all these years.

They still toot their horn on serving "The Best Steak In Town". This place is more like a museum of memories of good steaks long past.

  1. Good morning! I had quit wearing high heels long time ago cos if I walk on them I don't know how to balance, serious! Lol. Mmmmm, that neighborhood hoot cafe/restaurant is it for night owls customers and opens late into the night? We will see. Good luck in your training session.

    1. Good morning! This restaurant is also a bar, so I guess the people in the neighborhood now have a place to hang out late into the night.

  2. Hahaha, I think I have never worn any high heels nor owned any high heels.
I think you are right about the lone egg being an afterthought when they discovered that they prepared one egg less . 😂

  4. Bread were served on every meal when I was in Paris and it's hard for me to not to eat them because the mains alone might not be filling enough for me and the currency conversion hinders me to order more. ~>_<~

    1. The breads there are pretty good, right? I had a client who stayed in Switzerland for one month and she put on 10kg because she said the bread and pastries there were so irresistible!
