Saturday, I went to Say Yes Cafe to tapau nasi lemak for my mum.
The restaurant was very busy and I saw servers taking plates and plates of nasi lemak from the kitchen to the tables.
At Damansara Jaya, The Neighbour Hoot (update : CLOSED) has opened for business.
The menu is short and sweet with pasta, pork, fish, lamb and chicken.
Plus soup/appetizer, snack and beverages. Unfortunately no coffee.
After my weekly chit chat with mum, I made my way back to Damansara Utama.
I was craving for lots of meat.
So returned to Penang Kimberley Duck Kuih Chiap for the assorted platter again.
I enjoyed this platter a lot more this time. Maybe it was because I was hungry.
I ate slowly, enjoying every bite.
I would say the only thing I did not fancy in the platter is the pig blood. Not that it was unpleasant or anything like that.
Later I had some kefir and closed my eating window at around 5:00pm.
It looks like Penang Kimberley Duck Kuih Chiap is now one of my meat stations hah...hah...

ReplyDeleteGood that you found another meat station. Till now I don't dare to eat the blood cubes. Tried once at another shop and the taste is just too strong for me.

Good morning! Sometimes I wished I did not have to do it but looking at it positively, I am getting my mum proper food and at the same time I get to strengthen my legs LOL!
DeleteGood morning! Yeah TGIF! Before Singapore government banned the consumption of pig's blood, I felt ok eating it. But now after so many years, if I get to eat pig's blood again, how I will feel about it. Oh the neighbourhoot bar does not serve beer in their menu? Before my dad passed on, I enjoyed taupau-ing delicious chap fan and fish porridge for him. I felt happy when I saw him eating and loving the food. Now that he is no longer around, at times I will taupau Tau Suan dessert, other desserts or dim sum for my mom as she is a small eater. Enjoy your weekends!

DeleteOh you had the platter again. I thought you would omit something and ask for something else when you have the platter again (notably the blood and what was the other thing, the skin?)
ReplyDeleteWell, somehow I was craving the whole lot even though my least favorite thing was the blood. I don't mind the skin although if I were ordering individual items, that would not be my choice.
