Healthy Lunches Again. Got Lose Weight Or Not?


This is my second week on the Naked Lunchbox 5-day clean eating. Clean eating is good and having it cooked, packed and delivered to you is so convenient.

I don't have to slave in the kitchen to food prep (especially when I am not in the mood) and I get fairly nice food (with acceptable portions) delivered to me. Sometimes, you just need to pamper yourself, if it is something you can afford.


The meals are delivered by Lalamove and the regular guy who services my area conveniently whatsapp me this photo whenever he arrives.

So I just walk downstairs to collect. It is a lot easier (and I get some exercise) to do this than have to explain secara panjang lebar the exact location of my office. It is very tiring giving people directions hah..hah...


Day #1 - Honey's 13 Superfood Bowl 2.0. It has quinoa, roasted sweet potato, cherry tomato, broccoli, carrot, grapes, green peas, pumpkin seeds, edamame, chickpeas, salad greens, beetroot hummus with a tahini dressing.

You can add on your protein and unfortunately the choice is only either chicken breast or grilled salmon. I prefer my salad with chicken and this salad was pretty good. I loved the tahini dressing.


Day #2 - Teriyaki Chicken & Omu Rice. I loved this one a lot.


The tomato fried rice was very tasty and I like the moist omelette. The teriyaki chicken was well marinated and thank goodness it is chicken thigh. This meal was very filling. If you are wondering where are the veges, they are under the chicken.


Day #3 - Roast Chicken and Basil Pesto Sandwich. The bread is Tomato and Olive Focaccia bread with roast chicken, tomato, cheese & signature basil pesto. It came with a small side salad.


This meal was quite heavy because the foccacia bread is quite dense. The taste of the basil pesto is very pronounced and if you do not like Italian basil, then you won't like this. Although I dislike Italian basil, I can still eat this sandwich and enjoyed it to a certain degree. But I am not likely to order this sandwich again.


Day #4 - Skinny Caesar Salad with Tahini Dressing. This is apparently a light and healthier version of Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce, quail eggs (how cute!), parmesan (it was not too strong, fortunately), garlic croutons (not crispy), edamame, tomato salsa & tahini dressing. I enjoyed this salad but it was not filling.


Day #5 - Beef Steak & Mushroom Pie with Gravy. It has been ages since I had pie. So I was looking forwards to this.


It looked quite nice. This was delivered to my house, hence I could take nicer photos. From experience, I knew the gravy is not any good. Besides, I don't like my pie drowned in gravy. I like it neat, no gravy.


Time to dig in!


Hmmm... the pie was not as good as I anticipated. The pastry was heavy/hard and the filling had a strong buttery smell (which I dislike). It was also bland. No complaints about the sweet potato mash (needed more salt, but this is healthy food that is lightly seasoned) and the peas. Won't order this again.


The small salad was accompanied by a light and pleasant tasting dressing.

For dinner, I simply ate out at the food court (except on Friday when I had this for dinner). One of the things I ate was Claypot Chicken Rice.


Small portion, ok lah heh..heh...

So how? Got lose weight or not? In terms of weight, not much but I can feel my pants is a little more roomy. So that is a positive sign.



My cat has now claimed the bed in the spare room as hers, This is where she snoozes in the afternoon and evenings.

  1. Oh dear!!! I thought the pie looked really good, the filling looked good too. Too bad it was disappointing. Makes me wanna go and buy the very nice ones we have here...but they're not cheap, around RM10.00 each. :(

  2. I still like sinful food. Haha. I dobt think I can survive 1 week eating healthy food every day. Lol. Tried that, been there. I go for claypot chicken rice. Hehe.

  4. I thought it is super easy to describe your office locations by saying tepi bank tu. If your office is along The Ship or TM office would be headache.

    The pie looked good from the photo but looks can be deceiving again. I love lies and it's not easy to find those with good fillings and pastry. I thought you could easily buy pies from It's The Pie shop nearby.

    I saw your salad and it gave me terrible chills. I will try to update my blog & explain.

  5. my pants which fit perfectly at the start of 2020 are now snug enough that i must consider getting new ones! so i definitely need inspiration from you :) ooo, i wonder if you could make your own tahini dressing for your home-prepared meals and snacks. just need to buy some tahini, heh :D

  6. ah that's a good sign! nowadays u are eating healthily and went for weekend walks at the park, so surely will lose weight in a matter of time. Ah girl really can sleep for long, afternoon and evening summore...where got time to go out lepak?

  7. Hmmm....your office is difficult to locate? I've not had any problems with my address with delivery guys from foodpanda, grabfood or lalamove so far.

    If you love roasted sesame dressing, you're likely to love tahini too (the former uses roasted sesame seeds while the latter uses raw although some recipes will say it tastes better when you lightly toast the sesame seeds than raw (I'm sure you can make this in your kitchen). ^_~

    From the photo of your pie, if you don't like the pastry (which looks lighter & flakier than gravybaby's), then you certainly won't like gravybaby's pies which are much denser. Since you don't like gravies with your pies, I would have used the gravy on the mashed sweet potatoes for more flavour...hah..hah! Oh, I just realised we have another thing in common...we don't like strong buttery smell. I know that most people like their pastries very buttery, the more buttery, the better! ;D I like the fragrance than butter brings but too much of it is a put off for me too. P/S: I can't help but notice that your claypot chicken rice looks different as in the chicken looks charred (like it's been pan-fried first). Usually they'd be like stewed chicken when the marinated chicken pieces are added to the claypot to cook/steam alongside the rice.

    1. I am going to buy Tahini and make the dressing because I love it so much. Oh, dense pies I definitely won't like. Unfortunately the gravy that they is not good, or else I would have done what you suggested. Yes, agree with you that too much buttery smell can be off putting for us. That's why if I see any dishes that has some kind of sauce that is made with butter, I won't order.

      Yes, the chicken for the claypot rice is pan fried. I saw the guy doing it. I quite like it.

  11. Food looks good. I wonder why you like gravy for rice meals but not for pies. Is it because it is due to how you are used to it? Does your mother make pies without gravy for you to eat when young?

  13. The pie was not heavily seasoned because of the gravy. If heavily seasoned n eat with gravy will be too flavourful. But u didn't eat with gravy so the pie didn't meet your expectations in terms of taste. In UK I believe the gravy gives the extra oomph to pies.

  15. Oh dear, my pants are so tight after MCO. I did the same exercise and eating but I just wasn't as active as I usually am during the day as all my work was online, glued to a screen and computer chair.
