Covid-19 MCO : Day #10 (Oink Oink)

Today is day 10 and I went to the oink-oink shop to buy oink-oink. Parking was a breeze and naturally there was a queue outside the shop.

I noticed that the lady in front of me had extra protection. Besides a face mask she also had on a face shield. Apparently you can DIY this and affix it to a cap.

There was a sign at the door.

I had my mask on and so did my partner. I know. Only one person is supposed to come out but my lahling insisted that I must come along. Scared buy the wrong thing nanti kena scolded kah...kah...kah...

I also bought bacon and sausages as these are very handy. Too bad that although I made advance order, pork bones and pork ribs were not available.

For lunch I reheated the extra portion of beef ragu that I cooked on day 8 and had it with linguine. I decided to eat straight from the pot hee...hee....something that my late grandma would have frowned upon, bless her.

My last packet of Italian parsley went bad so I had to do without.

I added chili flakes for that extra kick. nyum...nyum...nyum....

My cat has abandoned the 3-seater sofa.

Now she wants the 2-seater that I have been sitting on (after giving up the 3-seater for her).

See, she is sleeping on my spot. Haiz... Can I now reclaim my 3-seater?

But I prefer this one, somehow. Maybe she has the same idea.

Look at her. She goes belly up like that when she is in deep sleep.

I love looking at her sleep. I feel so much love....

Tonight's dinner. Simple simple only.

Always cook extra for later.

Aiyah! Should have made sambal belacan. It would have been awesome!

  1. Aha!!! I know that shop so well but forgot about it. I will go there tomorrow to hoard the whole pig.

Your cat simply follows you to sit and sleep at your spots. Try to sit on the floor often and soon the whole floor is hers too! Cats actually love to sleep in boxes!!

  2. But how ah? I don't have a mask! That means I can't go into that shop lah!
I love pork cooked like that - the beauty of Chinese cooking, simple and nice!

    1. Can only go out ALONE! That's the ruling and as far as possible, don't go out at all. The number of cases over at your side every day is so very alarming!!! The way things are going I hear there will be a TOTAL lockdown soon since people are not cooperating - nobody is allowed to go out anymore!

    2. It really depends on the enforcement. Some places may not require mask, I dunno.

  3. My man bought some pork products few days ago from a supermarket. Tomorrow morning need to go to wet market. Pre-booked 2 kampung chickens, to collect tomorrow. If no pre-booked, definitely gone in quick time.

  5. I'm the one who does all the grocery shopping (alone) coz I'm more familiar with the produce and what I want...and can make immediate decisions on substitutes when somethings are not available. That's why we can't send the man out! >_< P/S: I enjoy watching my cat sleep too...especially when they belly up....they look so calm and cute just like a baby (which is our favourite time when they're fast asleep)! :D

    1. Me too. My partner probably will freak out if I ask him to get things like Italian parsley or passata hah..hah... Our cats are such little angels when they are asleep. That's the time when I can sneak to the kitchen or go upstairs without her making a lot of noise looking for me.

  6. Over here too, we have to queue up to go in. However I did not wait... I still have a some minced meat in the fridge.. but now I am yearning for some pork ribs to be cooked with mushrooms! Your dish inspired me, no doubt about that..

  7. Need to say one more time again your girl girl is so cute and sweet lah. And you really know how to capture pics of her. In sg, people are screaming lockdown but it is not as easy and simple. Oh no! Tau yu bak, my favourite!

    1. I don't mind hearing girl girl is cute and sweet LOL! Lockdown would be terrible, hopefully can be avoided. So far the MCO in Malaysia is bearable since we can still go out but only to buy our essentials. I miss going to the cinema.
