To Marco Again

This dinner date with my brother happened many months ago. This I believe was our third visit to Marco@1 Utama after celebrating his birthday there twice.

So this time what did we eat? The menu is quite limited and some items did not tickle our fancy. So we stuck to what we had already tried and enjoyed.

For drinks, my brother was craving for a milkshake while I stuck to my iced long black.

If I remember correctly, the milkshake was quite diluted.

We had the truffle fries as starters, with tomato ketchup for him and chili sauce for her.

My brother loves carbonara pasta and that's what he had. Though it was good, he said that it was not as good as the first time.

Me? I love burger.

And had an overdose of fries.

As evening approached, the server came to light the candles. Ours blew out. Luckily this was not a romantic date or else it might be an unfavorable omen hee..hee...

Desserts! French toast with vanilla ice cream. Mmmmm....

Nice and thick slices of bread.

I guess we have exhausted the menu at Marco and we may return should there be a revamp of the menu.

    1. I can't tolerate pastas that are too creamy, hence this type of carbonara is not for me.

  4. I think you tried more desserts here than main meals. Come to think of it, French toasts is one of the easiest desserts to make at home, isn't it? Just pan-fry the bread slices soaked in a milk & egg mixture, sprinkle over some powdered sugar and top with a good quality vanilla ice cream (from a tub)...and voila, you have a homemade dessert (you should try it some time since you make even more time consuming desserts like cakes & cookies). ^_~

    1. I have been very lazy lately, no baking or cooking mojo hah..hah... I might give the French Toast a try at home. My mum used to make it and we love it with a sprinkling of sugar.

  5. I have tried the French toasts and vanilla ice cream when their name was Franco before upgrading into fine dining Marco. Should be the same chef I believe. I have not been to there after they turned into Marco and I don't think I will since you are not going there anymore unless their menu gets a revamp so that means the food is not that special enough for frequent visits.

    1. I only like just one or two mains from the menu. So it is too limited for me.
