The Burg, Nuromen Damansara Uptown (CLOSED)

When I read about The Burg@Damansara Uptown on Sean's blog, I was like, bah! because the opening hours were 6:00 pm to 12:00 am. Not a convenient time for me. Why?

Because (1) I leave office by or before 6:00pm (Mon-Thu) and (2) there is no way I can take my partner to The Burg on Fridays/Saturdays because burgers are not exactly old people food (you know who I am talking about heh...heh). But not to this old people lah. I love burgers!

And then one fine day while running errands, I saw this.

Hey! The Burg! At lunch time!

The Burg is now situated right outside Nuromen. I guess the proprietor worked out an arrangement with the good people of Nuromen.

You can order your burger and eat inside the cafe. It's a win win situation because each enterprise can benefit from each other's customers.

The chicken burgers are made with chicken thigh. Yes! I love chicken thigh. The prices here are very friendly and I just had to give the burgers a try.

The Burg opens at 11:30 am till 10:00 pm (closed Tuesdays) but if you want to eat early, I suggest you drop by closer to 12:00 pm. I was an eager beaver and noted that the kiosk was not quite ready until about 11:55 am.

But to be on the safe side, it is best to go later than that because as I mentioned in this post, even past 12:00 pm, The Burg might not be ready to serve.

I placed my order with the very warm and friendly chap and took a seat inside the cafe.

Not long after that, more customers arrived.

While waiting, I ordered an iced coffee from Nuromen. It seemed like the right thing to do, I mean, surely I must give them some business since I am sitting inside the cafe.

It was a bit of a wait for my Burg's Salted Egg and fries but it was fine by me as I was in no hurry. Besides I had coffee to keep me company.

There you go. Burg's Salted Egg (RM9.90) and a serving of fries (RM1.00).

What you get here is a generous piece of chicken thigh (bigger than the bun), well seasoned and fried to perfection. Very crispy on the outside and so moist and tender on the inside.

The burger bun was fresh and soft and the salted egg sauce was just right, neither cloying nor overpowering. I was happy with the small portion of fries because this amount is just nice if you want to eat fries but don't want to overindulge. I was very satisfied with this meal.

When I love the food, I have to come back. There are 7  variations of chicken burgers (or rather 7 types of sauces) and I want to try all of them.

My next order was the Burg's Hot Sauce. Of course I had to add fries (after all it is only RM1.00) and somehow burger without fries seems incomplete.

The chicken was as good as before and the hot sauce really packed a punch. Quite pedas and if you are not into anything tongue burning, don't choose this one. But I enjoyed it. A lot.

Am I addicted or what? Next up, the Roasted Sesame.

No fries this time. I'm on a diet wahahahaha!!!

I tell you, if you want seriously good chicken burgers, you come here.

Amount of sauce is just right. I like all those shredded cabbage. I know my mum would approve. She makes coleslaw all the time.

Mmmm... dapnyer! The roasted sesame sauce is similar to Kewpie's but I wasn't paying too much attention to it. I was savoring the fried chicken.

This, my friends, is what I call a chicken burger. A seriously good one.

The burger base here is basically the same and differentiated only by the sauce but really, when you have an awesome piece of deep fried chicken thigh, you don't need much to jazz your burger up.

Oh ya, you get a loyalty card too.

I'll have to say the The Burg's chicken burgers are the best that I have eaten in a long time. Better than the ones I have had at established fast food outlets. Better than the ones at fancy cafes. When I want chicken burgers, I will come here. That's for sure!

  3. ooo, that's a nice little crowd gathering at the stall - really creative and practical of the burg and nuromen to collaborate like this. and no clash of meat, since one does chicken and the other tackles beef, heheh :D

  4. Yes, many roadside stalls here too but they open at 7. I already have my dinner by then so I don't think I will go and check out these stalls.

  6. Ooo, I guessed right. Very little can go wrong with a fried chicken thigh burger as long as there's a good accompanying sauce! ;) I'm more amazed at this one-man show...from cooking the burgers to serving to collecting money. Hmmm, if his business gets too good, Nuromen might think twice...hehe! ;D

  7. Confession: I eat burgers only once or twice a year and it's usually only if someone else had ordered them!
