Random Makan Makan

These days I am enjoying the freedom to eat. No more carbohydrate restriction which I used to impose on myself.

Thanks to my discovery of reverse dieting and intermittent fasting, I have been able to maintain my weight even when I indulge in carbs and the sweet stuff (in moderation of course!)

Sundays I low carb. I eat chap fan without the fan (rice),

My partner however is a rice man. He must eat rice or else he won't be satiated. He has no weight issues as the man has a high metabolic rate. I envy him!

When I eat bento or any meal with rice, if the portion of rice is big, I eat only half and save the other half in my container for my cat (I mix the rice with tuna before I feed her). What you see here is a soft shell crab curry bento from Fujisawa Izakaya@The Starling. Pretty good.

Ah! My favorite crispy chicken taco at Chili's 1 Utama. In the past, I would not have ordered this. The tortilla, cilantro rice and beans are all carb laden.

So good!

See, I can even have ice cream when I want.

Life is good when you can eat.

The other day, I went to Annie-1 late and had to suffer the indignity of sitting on the sidewalk. Very uncomfortable having people glance at you when they walk past.

All for a plate of wantan mee, siew kaw and kopi-o ais kosong. Bliss!

And of course, my latest craze, IlaoIlao frozen yogurt and the fixins. I tried the pistachio sauce.

It was all sweet and creamy with no distinctive taste of pistachios. I won't order this sauce again. My favorite is the dark chocolate, strawberry and fruit forest sauce.

Had the choco hazelnut sauce and still prefer the three I mentioned above. I am loving this!

Then I went for a lamb quesadilla at Orale one afternoon. Sadly, it did not taste as good as before.

By the way, I spotted a few more new bubble tea houses at Damansara Uptown. It's quite scary the rate at which they are opening.

Ji Long Tang and Bawangchaji are going to be operational fairly soon.

This one is called The Whale Tea.

It opened last Saturday and all these cheapskate people bubble tea enthusiasts are queuing up for the 50% promotional discount.

And then there's another one called Black Whale.

So brown sugar boba milk lovers, soon you will be having a whale of a time at Damansara Uptown

It's a good thing I don't like bubble tea or else I would be adding this along to my sweet treats list.

  4. IlaoIlao frozen yogurt has been my all time favourite and my favourite sauce is also strawberry and fruit forest sauce!! Great minds eat alike!

Bubble Tea is also my addiction but my wife has been saying it causes indigestion in her intestines. I told her to chew and grind them with her teeth before swallowing la. So Uptown will soon become a Bubble Town! Bring on! Hip Hip Hooray!

  7. Indeed a very scrumptious spread above! Nowadays I won't order small rice as below, I take the regular and then what I cannot finish, I give to my furry member at home. Sharing is caring! LOL... I have been to Annie 1 once, it is opposite the Starling, if I am not mistaken, tried the wanton noodles and the Chee Cheong Fun before.. not bad, I wouldn't mind going again.

    1. Dogs are so versatile as they can eat any of our leftover food unlike cats! Annie 1 is my favorite hangout. I love the wanton mee.

  8. Nice food. I will make a note to try the taco crispy chicken at chili's and your favourite 3 combi at llao llao - strawberry, dark choc and fruit forest sauce. Luckily I don't like the QQ tapioca pearls which they now call bobba so none for me too.

  9. I want the crispy chicken taco. Not crazy over the bubble tea so won't be adding to the queue. Don't have IlaoIlao frozen yogurt here, so I am saved from getting addicted. Lol!

  11. Love my carbs - no restrictions here. Although I do eat mostly wholegrain so I guess that's a bit healthier than refined or processed carbs.
