How to Reheat Frozen Fritters (My Way)

You know how I love to chuck stuff into the freezer. Cookies, rice, curry, cakes, bacon, bread, you name it, I got it frozen.

Not even vegetable fritters are spared. So. I was delighted to find these in the freezer.

Frozen vegetable fritters. Amongst my Nutella Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies hee..hee....

So how do you reheat these? First up, line a tray with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top of the tray like so.

Then place the frozen fritters on the wire rack. No need to defrost.

Then put the whole lot into the oven, middle rack.

Then preheat the oven to 180C. Yes, put the fritters in first and then preheat. Why? It saves time.

Bake for 20-25 minutes. How to tell if it is done? Test by tapping a fritter with a fork. If it feels crispy, it's done. Madam just touched it with her finger. Fierce or what?

There you go. Nicely browned and crisped. See the oil pooling on the tray?

They may not look very pleasing BUT they were crispy and crunchy and tasty.

I like it with Lingham chili sauce. Yummeh!!

  2. thanks for the tips! now I don't dare to eat deep fried food for fear of getting sorethroat. Half of the people working in the same office are sick and coughing their throat out.

  6. For me, it's even easier....I chuck it into the oven toaster to reheat and crisp up (like potato wedges, grilled veggies & shredded roast chicken) for say 5 mins. If it's frozen, maybe a bit longer. I have thrown in frozen cocktail sausages direct from the packet and it work wonders....hehe! ;)

    1. Definitely easier. I don't have a toaster oven. Maybe I should get one :)

  7. So that is how it is done! And oil-less too!

    1. Yup because the fritters already got oil.

  8. I heat up the oven, turn it off when it is already hot, put in and heat in the residual heat. Best eaten hot. When cold, may turn as hard as stone.

  9. I cannot store anything because it all will be left uneaten anyway. LOL

  10. I can't store too many things in the freezer, because they will be forgotten there! My leftovers go to a 90yr. old gentleman (my daughter's neighbor) who is a veteran and lives by himself, and is still in fairly good health and spirit!

  11. I love to have the convenience of leftovers in the freezer. I've been trying to get rid of plastic and store more things in glass.

    1. Because the fritters were deep fried earlier and some oil still present.
