Auntie Goes To The Movies

Hee..hee..hee... It has been ages. Ages since I stepped into the cinema. And how convenient that MBO Cinemas is at The Starling. Yay!

So. I decided to give myself a bit of relaxation by watching a movie. Honestly, I felt like kid again. It is exciting going to the movies!

I love the horror stuff. You know, the scaries and the blood and gore. I wanted to watch The Bride but the timing was not suitable. So I picked Alien : Covenant.

I loved the earlier Alien movies so I thought this latest one should be good for me.

When I wanted to book the ticket, bah! All the good seats were take up except for the Premier seating which cost a bomb. RM49.90 per ticket.

But kedekut punya kedekut, this auntie relented because she was determined to watch the movie. This better be good.

And hey, when I went up to the cinema hall, there was a concierge outside the hall. It's a new thing to me. This goodie bag (of course this is packed into the ticket price) was delivered to me after I took my seat.

Wah! So nice. You can choose what drink you want and since I don't do soft drinks, I chose mineral water. Then there is popcorn! And a pack of egg mayo sandwich.

Digging deeper into the bag, I found a pack of 3 Ferroro Rocher chocolates. Hmmm...not bad.

The seat was spacious and comfortable and really, there is nothing like watching a movie on the big screen with the sound effects bedeboom bedebam everywhere.

So how was the movie? Well, I already know how those aliens look like, how the baby aliens burst out of people's bodies. So it was not so exciting lah. The only thing I enjoyed was the stunning visuals and Michael Fassbender's performance.

Well, I am looking forwards to my next movie experience!

  3. I also just went to the MBO Cinema recently at JB KSL, we watched a Chinese Romantic Comedy instead because we are not really interested in those Superheroes Action movies, I think not only the movie counts, your companion counts too, someone who can laugh, cry together with you and discuss about the movie with you

  6. I don't think I can bring myself to pay close to RM50 for a movie ticket...even if it comes with freebies! O_o Luckily, you didn't get yourself some snacks before entering the cinema (not knowing that you'll be given a bag of goodies). Next, maybe you can try TGV Indulge in 1 Utama? For a full gourmet and cinematic experience...hehe! ;)

    1. How sweet of you to accompany your brother. I wouldn't have paid so much if the regular seats were available.

  11. It has been 6 years since I last jejak kaki at cinema, PH. Lagilah nowadays you can download the latest movies for free... oppsss... secret! Don't tell other people, yeah ^_^

The experience I bet is better than the movie itself. I yang baca ni pun teruja but how come the ticket so mahal nowadays ya. Yalah, ticket+mineral water/soft drink+ferrero rocher+popcorn+sandwich somemore, all includedkan. Kalau bayar RM10 for ticket, how to get all these for free, right? Bancruptlah cinema macam tu.

Eh, I also like horror and thriller tau! I spesies tak kuat jerit kalau tengok horror movie ni. Hahaha!

  15. If I am not away in overseas, I will definitely watch movies every week. It really released my stress and could make me happy. Like you said, being kids again.

This is the first time I heard of so much freebies being served! I think it was worth the price if you do the maths.
