Salted Egg Potato Chips

I was taking a stroll at The Starling when I noticed some sort of bazaar at the centercourt. There were stalls selling costume jewellery, clothing, artifacts and of course, snacks. So you know which stall I gravitated to.

Salted Egg Potato Chips. How irresistible is that? One canister was selling at RM18.00. If you buy two, you pay RM34.00. Yes, that is pricey but I know why it is pricey. It's mostly for the labor cost.

I have a weakness for potato chips, in fact any kind of chips. So I bought one.

OK, I bought two. How can one canister be enough? There was no expiry date on the canisters and I asked the lady how long these will keep (which is actually an irrelevant question).

She informed me that they were good for 30 days but once opened, it should be consumed within 7 days. Hah! As if I would wait that long. So.

Snack time! Whoah..... is this good or what?! Krup...krap...krup...krap....

I sat on the sofa and stuffed my face while watching CSI. Never mind that a decomp entered the frame, it did nothing to stifle my appetite for these awesome chips.

So fragrant with these curry leaves. In less than 30 minutes, one canister was done for. So.....

The second canister did not survive for very long. These things are so dangerous. If there were a third canister, I would have finished that as too. Oh well....

  1. Why don't your bargain with the seller so that you can get 4 canisters with cheaper price? Discount! Ask for more discount. Who will profit from that? You and the seller ^_^ Hahaha!

  4. How in the world do you make salted egg potato chips? O_o Fry the chips first and then toss in salted egg yolk and curry leaves mixture? I can see why you finished one jar in no time..and yeah it's pricey seeing how small the container is! :( Was the weight listed?

  16. Well, to be fair, the canisters look pretty small, so eating 2 canisters at a go is absolutely irrevocably justifiable. The price though... Ouch!

    2. Since you love this snack, why not try and make your own? I have recently stumbled upon an online recipe from famous food blogger Kenneth Goh but have yet to try coz I also cannot resist the temptation, just like you... http://www.guaishushu1.com/salted-egg-yolk-potato-chips-%E9%87%91%E8%8E%8E%E5%92%B8%E8%9B%8B%E8%96%AF%E7%89%87%EF%BC%89/
