I Love Leftovers

I opened the fridge one morning (three weeks ago) and yikes! I still have some leftover Chimichurri. What should I do with that?

Then I had some leftover macaroni because I couldn't fit all of it into my Baked Pasta

Wait, there's more leftovers. The red, green and yellow bell peppers.

Then it occurred to me, why not mix all of these leftovers together (with a squeeze of lime) to make some sort of pasta salad? That's what I did and I chilled it in the fridge before serving.

So. There you have it my Pasta Salad which by the way was really good.

The Chimichurri was awesome and the peppers provided crunch and added flavors. The pasta was the comfort factor and mix that all up, a satisfying bowl of cool comfort.

There are times when leftovers combined, make a great meal.

  2. You are so smart to always find solutions for left overs and almost expired stuffs in your fridge. Happy Weekend chef!

  3. My Saturday breakfasts are usually a mixture of all leftovers too. My theory is: if they're good enough to be eaten separately, they're good enough to be eaten mixed like rojak. :P

  4. What a healthy pasta! Did you throw the yellow peppers in its raw state or you blanched them lightly?

  10. That's what I do all the time - see what leftovers there are in the fridge and use those to cook something for breakfast. It's a sin to waste.

  11. i have a confession - i don't like macaroni, penne or any of the tube/cylinder-shaped pastas, cos i prefer to slurp up my pastas in strands (and i feel they soak up their sauces more satisfyingly that way). but i'd honestly and happily eat your chimichurri macaroni - it looks like something that would refresh the palate very well ... maybe can do a two-course pasta meal - start with an appetiser of this chimichurri macaroni, then the second course can be a heavier, more robust pasta :D

    1. Hayley, the Toothspa was too little (of course lah, sample mah hee..hee..) so I did not feel the effect. That's why I did not blog about it. Sorry about that.
