Cooking? Slowly....Slowly.....


My cooking engine is very sluggish. Haiz...... What with my experience with Dahmakan and Grabfood last year, it has made me mighty lazy!

Not only am I lazy when it comes to cooking, I have also become lazy to update my blog posts. So to give in to my inner sloth, this year I shall adopt a more relaxed approach. I won't be posting every weekday like before but will post at random. No schedule. No stress.


Last weekend, I warmed up my engine vroom...vroom...hee...hee... Did some food prep for myself and my partner.

There were two packets of udon in the freezer after I cooked Fried Udon last year. I was reminded of the udon after I had Yaki Udon at a restaurant one Friday. Sad to say, the Yaki Udon was not good. Mine tastes better. Hah!


I probably won't buy udon again because I don't like the texture. It's very similar to laksa noodles and to me laksa noodles only belong in asam laksa

Then I roasted chicken legs and used lemon pepper seasoning that I bought from the supermarket.


The chicken legs were also from the supermarket, not as good as the ones from the wet market. I need to make a trip to the Section 17 wet market one of these days and buy many chicken legs. I actually dread going to the market because it is so congested and parking is a nightmare.


I also cooked some brown rice and blanched a head of broccoli for my own food prep. Sorry no photo. See, wanna take photo also lazy. I portioned out the rice/broccoli and deboned the chicken legs into four containers. My lunch for Monday to Thursday is set!

Dinner? I'll just eat out. That's it from me for now. Let's hope that I will keep up with my home cooking and perhaps slot in some baking, eh?

  2. Lol. Too pampered to cook now. But never mind. Soon you may be bored of the tapau food that you will go back to your kitchen and start cooking.

  4. Glad to see your cooking engine starting again...but not full steam ahead yet...hehehe! ;) I have to say that's probably the most pale-looking chicken I've seen you cook thus far (due to the light lemon pepper seasoning I reckon) compared to your usual more robustly coloured chicken legs! :D

    1. The seasoning made the roasted chicken yellowish and pale, not attractive at all! Tastewise, all right lah hee..hee...

  6. modern life is making all of us lazier - a friend of mine just got the google home smart-speaker device that lets him turn his lights on and off with voice commands. if you ever get it, you could use it to feed you recipe ideas, set timers and control your appliances ;)

  8. Looks like the right time to warm up your cooking engine. Sometimes, we need a break from cooking or home cooked food and we eat out. Then we get bored and desires our home cooked meals. Your roast chicken and fried udon look delicious.

  10. The texture of the udon still remained springy after being frozen?
    I think morning market becomes more crowded recently as many people will go there for CNY shopping, you better avoid it :P

  11. I had such a distressing end to 2019 that it's carried over 2020 and I'm behind in my blog posts too. A little depression, a little grief, a little illness - it all comes tumbling together when you least expect it.
