Sedapnya!

Makan lagi. Takde keje lain dah. I'm at it again. Eating, eating, eating. Some of you said that it was too soon for me to be eating so much after the flu. I should stick to a simple diet until I am fully recovered. But no. My stomach wants solid food. So I gave in.

I wanted to eat something punchy and pedas (hot). So I thought of the nasi kukus at Nasi Kukus Lejen. Ohh.... I had not been there for ages!

So I made my way there for the Nasi Kukus Ikan Keli and a Coconut Shake. The ikan keli (catfish) was excellent like before but sadly the Coconut Shake was way too sweet.

I enjoyed the hot, sour and spicy sambal. So much so that I returned the very next day. Hah!

I asked for extra sambal and the pretty lady obliged. This time I ordered coconut water and made sure to make it known that I do not want any sugar added.

The coconut water was served in a big kole (enamel mug) and it was so refreshing. I love coconut water!

The extra sambal really perked up my appetite and I enjoyed my lunch tremendously. And no, I did not experience any ill effects after that. I will definitely come back here again.

  1. Anything with ikan keli is a winner for me too! ;) I think you've missed out on another legendary nasi kukus...Kukus Stim Habis which you wanted to try as they've moved out of TTDI probably because of high rental (to open soon in Glenmarie which is also too far for me)....#StimHabisDer :(

  2. Hi Phong Hong, look like you are recovering fast and back in action enjoying your food. At our age, enjoy what we like , if not feel so sorry to our stomach. LOL
The nasi kukus and sambal look very delicious.

    Have a nice day, regards.

  4. You are so scary like Mulan! I am looking at my past mirrors now. When younger, I was wild like a beast and ate anything when I was sick with fever and flu. I even went partying and downed so much beer & long island drinks when my head was burning with fever. I survived and a good boy now.

You made a right choice to drink coconut water which would help speedy recovery! Happy Weekend & Makan pedas lagi!!!

  15. two days in a row you ate deep fried ikan keli? good that you got those that have just been deep fried. the only time i went there the ikan keli was soggy. was deep fried a long time ago. i should not have ordered it when there are no fresh ones just out from the wok. good to hear that no ill effects after that. means you are near to full recovery.
