There are days when I go a foraging in my freezer looking for things to eat. Yes, I have wonderful things in the freezer and sometimes I surprise myself.
One day I found this long lost container. I was searching for it high and low for months. Now, what's in there?
Nope. Not cookies. But even better - Zucchini and Corn Fritters! I actually froze these and forgot all about it.
A research is in order - Will frozen fritters still taste good?
There were four in a pack. I had to defrost them a little bit because they were stuck to each other. Then I placed a wire rack on top of a stainless steel tray and arranged the frozen fritters on top.
Into the oven they went (before preheating) and I set the oven to preheat at 200C. When it beeped, I set the timer to 12 minutes.
There you go. All piping hot from the oven. I cooled them down first before taking a bite.
Hey, they were crispy and tasted very good. There were another 4 of these fritters which I saved for dinner.
So, yes folks, fritters can be frozen, reheated and enjoyed. So convenient!

Wow... your freezer is really something! A lot of food treasures to be enfolded.. hahaha...
ReplyDeleteYes, macam-macam ada!
DeleteHi PH...
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you can store almost anything in the freezer, big and convenience one. And guess what? This is the first time I saw this kind of freezer. I want one hehe.
Hi Puan Hazel! This freezer is very useful. Highly recommended hah..hah..
DeleteWahhhhh really a treasure trove!
ReplyDeleteReminded me of Nigella Lawson's fridge.
hee..hee.. I like her fridge. Got things to munch at night :D
DeleteI like your big freezer. Am thinking about getting one for my mother because it seems so useful. Would you recommend this brand of freezer or this exact one?
ReplyDeleteSo far, this freezer has served me well. If you choose a freezer, go for the one with a door like this, not the horizontal ones.
DeleteOnce we had a small fridge with a freezer...and then I got a bigger one...and now an even bigger one. Never mind the size, it will ALWAYS be stuffed with all kinds of everything. When free, I would go through all and sort them out and throw away a lot, arrange the rest nicely...so the bottom line is, size does not matter and no, no freezer for me, thank you very much!
ReplyDeletehah..hah...the more space, the more things to stuff and then there is not enough space! I am in the process of cleaning out my freezer so that I can reorganize it.
DeleteI don't mind searching through your freezer. Wahaha. But no head for me. Lol.
ReplyDeleteOnce a while I try to make it a habit to clear my freezer and fridge. First in, first out, dont keep for too long. I also sometime forget what in the plastics or containers. Lol.
hah..hah... I am trying to do that too - clearing up and using up the older stock. Now I label my containers :)
DeleteYou just gave me goosebumps. I have 2 big fridges at home and my wife would be happy to have a freezer!!! Why do women love wardrobes and freezers so much??
ReplyDelete#FreezerTreasures
wahahaha!! You know, the other day I was thinking I need another frigde! Gila!
DeleteMakes me think of Doreamon, hehe...
ReplyDeletehah..hah...everything got...
Deletewhen you serve it on the plate that way, it looks so fresh that it's impossible to tel it's been frozen! :D hmmm, when archaeologists excavate your area in 300 years, i wonder what they'll still find in your freezer :D
ReplyDeletehah..hah...that's a funny thought! I reckon frozen cheesecakes? :D
DeleteMy fridge no treasures because my mom seldom cook and I don't know how to cook :(
ReplyDeleteOh...so you only keep drinks in there?
DeleteOur fridge is only full once a year, during Chinese New Year, when my mom would cook reunion dinner for us, hee hee
DeleteSo during normal days, ya only drinks and a lot of medicines in the fridge haha
At least got something inside hee..hee...
DeleteWhen you have a big freezer space, that's the disadvantage...you end up storing lots of things you can't remember later on! :D I remember you putting out a post on these fritters some time back, so I checked your side bar to see how long these were in the freezer...and it was made in April! O_o Oh dear, I don't think I'd be brave enough to eat something cooked and frozen for so long.
ReplyDeletehah..hah.. I am the daredevil, remember? You are right, the more space we have, the more "junk" we stash >.< My freezer is practically full all the time and I think I need more space >.<
DeleteLike treasure hunt eh, hehe :P
ReplyDeleteYes! hah..hah..
DeleteWow! You have a good freezer. I would like one too to store all the goodies for times when I am hungry. The fritters look good!
ReplyDeleteI love my freezer hee..hee...
DeleteWhat an awesome find! I was almost cheering with you that it would be cookies too - but then... fritters... yes, even better!
ReplyDeletehee..hee.. I agree, much better!
DeleteYelah.. I still remember you punya entri pasal fritters ni. Hihi....nasib tak jumpa tahun depan LL.
ReplyDeleteI tak pernah jumpa freezer mcm nilah LL...emm
hah..hah..kalau tahun depan tak taulah masih boleh makan ke tidak :)
