Hari Raya @ The Starling

The Hari Raya decorations at The Starling is rather low key.

To be fair, the Chinese New Year decorations were nothing much to get excited about either.

The theme is pretty much cute kampung houses.

They make nice backdrops for taking photos.

See? These were recycled deco from Chinese New Year.

The illuminated flower vases.

This is a cute kedai runcit (provision shop).

And the Hari Raya bazaar.

The usual snacks, trinkets and apparels.

I spotted this Funz Kaftan. My Malay friends call kaftan "baju kelawar". Kaftans are very practical clothing, don't you think so?

They are brilliant when you are sitting down to a big meal or buffet because there is no waistband. No discomfort. No worries about your expanding tummy hah...hah... Sorry, I digress.

Do you see the congkak (a traditional board game) in the center of the gazebo? I used to play congkak with my grandmother when I was small.

Awesome Snacks always has a kiosk every festive season.

The Toy World merry go round is still there.

Then I spotted this kiosk selling cute figurines.

Cute eh?

Nice apparels.

Trinkets. I used to buy lots of these when I was younger. Now they don't interest me anymore.

Trigona Honey.

I left the bazaar and walked around the mall.

I was right. Salad Atelier has shut down.

The Barn is now Continental Wine Bar & Bistro. I don't know if this a rebranding or a change of management.

I'm afraid the set lunch is not exciting (to me).

At A Foodie's Nest, there is a new bak kut teh stall.

Li Ji Lala Noodle has taken over the space vacated by Lim Fried Chicken.

This is also new, Goh Kee - Taste of Sarawak.

Outside the food court was this DuREAL kiosk.

Selling durian crepes. I have tried durian crepes and although I liked them, I am not addicted to them hah..hah...

Tomorrow we celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. So to my Muslim friends and readers, I wish you all Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri! Have a wonderful celebration with your family and loved ones and please stay safe.

For the rest of you (and me) enjoy your holidays!
