During the long weekend, as usual, instead of taking it easy and chilling out, I gardened, I housekeeped (is there such a word?) and I cooked (three dishes).
I always try to overachieve when I have free time. I never learn.
Well, one of the things I cooked is my favorite minced beef which I baked with cheese topping (as you have already seen before).
On my regular walks at The Starling, I spotted this space (previously occupied by a furniture store).
Oh! A new Korean restaurant is coming. Gu On. Reading the caption, I was like, yes, September, just nice for my birthday!

Hi dear friend, housekeeping is work! We are just not paid to do the work (unless someone else hires us to do it for them). I prefer to grate cheese myself, because the store bought ones taste kind of waxy, and you are never sure when it was grated. So I totally understand what you are saying.
ReplyDeleteI love the quote, and your photos of these dishes are wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing.
Hah..hah... indeed it is work, a job that can never be completed! That's what my late grandmother used to quip :D
DeleteGood morning PH I am now going to my neighbourhood aircon library with window view to meditate, will come back to comment later. BRB.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon! What a nice way to spend the morning.
DeleteIndeed it is a very nice way to spend the morning but at times I felt sleepy so was unable to achieve my this aim.
DeleteI am feeling sleepy now. Did not sleep well >.<
DeleteSame like you. At times I don't sleep well and I get sleepy in the morning so I try to steal a nap in the afternoon before I WFH.
DeleteI was enjoying the silence when I meditated just now. Silence can be awkward at times but if you know how to appreciate it, it can be very enjoyable and comfortable. You are like me, PH, every end of the day, I will plan my food and beverage intake for the next day and then look forward to it, just like what you wrote in your blog post title, a restaurant to "look forward to", haha great minds think alike.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love food too much!
DeleteThere is Japanese food in my neighborhood food centre but there is no Korean food stall, if someone opens one, I am sure business will be very good. Looking forward to your review of Gu On for your birthday. September is coming to an end very soon.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to Gu On too and hope they open in time for my birthday hee..hee..
DeleteThink it in another way. Gardening, cooking, etc these are your hobbies and things you enjoy doing, so you are not trying to "achieve" doing all these, you are "enjoying" yourself.
ReplyDeleteMy hobby is also watching TV to relax and due to the cooking etc, I have less time to watch TV because I sleep early.
DeleteWhat time do you hit the bed? For me usually is 9.30pm or latest 10pm. I sleep later during weekends.
DeleteI sleep at 8:30pm. LOL!
DeleteAh, I think there is a Gu On Korean bbq in Sri Petaling. Wonder are they from the same chain. 🤔
ReplyDeleteU r wonder woman to do so much during long weekends.
Your cheese beef baked looks delicious 🤤😋
I would love it 💕
I googled and found Gu On at other locations. I think it is the same chain. I was exhausted after all my chores, defeating the purpose of a holiday LOL!
DeleteOoo....a lot of choices for a carnivore here! ;) Let's get the gu on (whatever gu means)....lol! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's why I am so excited!
DeleteMy grated or block cheese always molded even I keep in fridge. >_<
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Mine was like that once, forgot to use it before it got bad.
