Flowers Along The Way : Walking Off The Glucose

Now when I eat carbs, I plan it in such a way that after the meal I have a long walk.

For example, now I eat early ie brunch, before I pick up mum's lunch.

That morning, Girl came inside around 4.00am.

She knows that she is Ma's favorite girl and she is the only one allowed to hang out on the sofa.

Before I picked up Mum's lunch, I crossed over to Halla Holla at Damansara Jaya. I have to cross the highway using the overhead bridge. Best exercise ever hah...hah...

This is the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich, curated in conjunction with Merdeka month (until 30th September). These days, I request for the bread to be toasted "lightly only" so that it is not so hard.

The portion of chicken is generous and the taste is legit though it could use a bit more Tandoori sauce. I consider this a good carb meal since it has carbs, proteins and some veggies. I enjoyed this sandwich and it made for a very filling meal.

The iced Americano was excellent as always.

And now, for the walk. I crossed back to Damansara Utama, bought mum's lunch and then crossed over to Damansara Jaya again.

After dropping off her lunch, I walked back to Damansara Utama. I took some photos along the way.

I came upon these Rambutans which were still green. They will turn red or yellow (depending on the variety) once ripe.

This orange colored Hibiscus is huge. I have this Hibiscus at home but it has not bloomed in a while.

This multicolored Bougainvillea is lovely.

My late grandmother planted many varieties of Bougainvillea. There were so many colors - red, white, purple, orange, yellow and even variegated colors.

I am not sure if these yellow flowers are Marigold.

These little white Jasmines are so pretty.

And oh, Roses!

Pretty Rose buds.

Oh .... such beautiful blooms! These beauties reminded me of my late dad's flowers. Dad was a keen gardener and his green fingers made the garden grow. But sadly, the garden is now deplete of plants and we are planning to sell the house.

Well, that was quite the walk, me sweating buckets by the time I reached The Starling. It was a 40 minute walk from the time I finished my meal until I reached my office.

Indeed!

  1. Dear friend, this quotation is so very true! And it's great that you take a walk after a big meal! Thank you so much for sharing your lovely flower photos and Girl, the cat, is so cute! Your chicken sandwich looks great, quite a bit of chicken! Not sure about Tandoori, but if it isn't hot and spicy, I would really like it! I love the presentation of the first sandwich, very colourful and the toothpicks hold it together well. A 40 minute walk is amazing! And I appreciate you taking all these lovely photos on your walk! :)

  2. Good morning! Regarding your previous post, you had eggs and coffee for breakfast only and after that just had dinner? I can't do that, I sure will get hungry in between.
