These are butter cookies from my childhood. But I have lost my taste for these sweet buttery treats.
Stand a chance to win a trip to Denmark. What do I know about Denmark? Ah! Hans Christen Andersen. His works include The Snow Queen, The Little Mermaid and many many more. I had a good dose of his fairy tales when I was a child.
Well, when I was a child, I am sure at some point I wished I could sit with a tin of butter cookies in front of the TV. Now that I am an adult and can afford such shenanigans, alas I no longer enjoy butter cookies. The irony of life!
Back at The Starling, the theme of the weekend bazaar is Summer Bloom. Well, there is no such thing as summer in Malaysia. There is only one season. Hot season hah...hah...
Ah, I see you had a good carb day as dumplings 🥟 and wantons I would say is good carb as the fillings are protein. Butter cookies? They are a luxury item for me when young as they are expensive and my parents seldom buy them.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you and your 🐈😺!
ReplyDeleteAny gardening planned? Kittie kat can play with you while you are gardening instead of sit on cars. 😁
I don't like butter cookies, either. I do like oatmeal or chocolate 🍫 chip, though. Your pork bone broth looks delicious 😋 And Kitty's wide eyed spooked expression made me 😂 laugh.
ReplyDeleteOh, and this quote and illustration is beautiful and touching.
ReplyDeleteThe last poster/quote is so true! I was about to tell you I miss seeing Feline in your posts, ahhhh there you go, Kitty Kat's wided eye look makes her look so innocent. Will she run when she sees big fat rats? LOL! Loving the pork belly and shrimp/pork dumplings and wantons.
ReplyDeleteAbout the last poster/quote, I translate the meaning as learn to show appreciation and have empathy, all we need is just some love as we are humans with emotions (we are not just plants/trees with no pain sensors or emotions). Even men cry tears too!
