Day #2 (Thursday) went smoothly except that I had to rush something for my client and I almost had a heart attack with my food delivery pre-order. A bit about that later.
On my way back from buying chap fan, I saw this itsy bitsy little kitty.
And she has a black sibling, equally scrawny. Poor things. I wish I could give them a home but I already have my hands full with two adult cats.
Dinner I Grabfood a salad from my favorite La Jucieria. Now they have an outlet inside Jaya Grocer @ 1 Utama. My partner and I have visited twice already but I have yet to blog about that.
I sendiri added one avocado that I bought from Avocadian. Adding half an avocado on the Grabfood order would set me back RM8 (my whole avocado cost me RM7).
Ah Girl and Belle Belle social distancing as per SOP. Alamak baru perasan I wore one black and one white slipper. |
Friday (today day #3) I worked from home. Oh ya, a side story about my heart attack food order.
On Thursday I pre-ordered lunch via AirAsia Food after reading about Don by TSF on EatDrinkKL. My delivery was for Friday between 12:00 pm and 12:30 pm.
Then slightly past 1:00 pm I got a call from Mason of Don by TSF. He informed me that my food is ready but AirAsia was jam packed and can't deliver right now. Eh??? I was taken aback. Isn't my order for tomorrow? I terkejut badak I tell you.
Then he checked and ya...it was his mistake. But then since he already prepared the food, I was willing to accept delivery. Mistakes happen. And I did not want him to waste his effort and ingredients. To cut the long story short, he said it was not an issue and that my delivery will proceed Friday as instructed. Phew!
They always give each other the evil eye. |
So Friday while I was sweeping the car porch, at 12:00 pm sharp a car arrived at my gate. Siapa tu? I saw a young lady at the driver's seat and I thought she was just passing by the area.
There was a note. I only ordered sides as I did not want to eat rice. As you can see, there is condensation on the cover of the bowl.
My orders clockwise from top right - Chicken Karaage, Don's Chili Tofu, Nam Yu Pork Belly and Soy Glazed Eggplant.
This is the Soy Glazed Eggplant. Boy! It was delicious! The enoki mushroom tempura had of course gone cold and hard. That is to be expected of food delivery but I am not complaining.
What is important to me is the taste. I already super love eggplant/brinjal and this one swept me off my feet. Next time I will order 2 portions.
The Don's Chili Tofu also made me very happy. It is soft tofu deep fried and doused with what tasted to me like sweet chili bean sauce.
Next up, proteins. This Chicken Karaage (my partner's favorite at Japanese restaurants but he wasn't home at the time. Less man more share!) was accompanied by a sweet onion aioli which was very pungent and robust.
The chicken is already good on its own but you know me, I love sauces/dips. Although the fried chicken was not crispy anymore, I still enjoyed it.
The Nam Yu Pork Belly had so much flavor. If you love nam yu fried pork, you will love this. It is served with a wedge of lime (that gave freshness and cut through the oil) and a sriracha mayo which I loved.
Luckily I have eaten my dinner. So I just admired your delicious food photos without drooling hungrily. The food preparation were all very good and you enjoyed them.... Bagus lah! MCO is time to check out all types of delivery services and food online because the world is changing permanently now. Soon there will be no more waiters at restaurants when AI (artificial intelligence) takes over completely. We might be able to see doctors from vending machines which will check your BP, temperature and even dispense tablets with injections. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteThis crazy aunty is very happening to set fashion trends by wearing black & white slippers after her debut at Ritz Carlton in Selipar Jepun! Oh Mama! Your daughter is hilarious hor!
Next time please carry some kibbles in your handbag with napkins to feed those hungry cats. Heavens will bless you with abundance of happiness and food too.
I try to give my support to those eateries especially the smaller ones.
DeleteLOL! I love my selipar Jepun. It will become a trend one day hee..hee...
Good idea, my handbag is very big.
Phewwwwww!!!! For a while I thought you were going to take home those strays!!! AirAsia delivery? Read something about it that day, somebody commented on Facebook, cannot remember what he/she said now. We do not have that here. Your orders look so good! Love the plastic bowls.
ReplyDeleteI was quite pleased that the delivery was so punctual.
DeleteHappy tummy, happy me. That is what I always believe. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteThe food looked delicious. Glad you got your oder delivered on the correct day.
Me too same same. LOL!
DeleteI hope u get a chance to help those kittens; they are emaciated and desperately need you!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen them again after that. I suspect the adult cat (orange one) that I saw earlier could be their mama. I hope so. Will see if I can locate them today.
DeleteOh, poor kittens. They don't look well. I hope someone would rescue them and care for them or else they will suffer and die. Since you have already taken photos, if u see them again or cars like this again, u can post on those local fb cats group to inform and ask if anyone would want to help pick them up. One such group is this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/913201988840204/?ref=share
ReplyDeleteSome rescuers will pity them and pick them up and after taking to the vet and caring for them will post on petfinder for my to look for adopters for them.
OK, will try to put up on FB.
DeleteThank you for photos of both your girls. Good that they can relax together although is keeping their distance. Thank you for caring for them.
ReplyDeleteThey have brought much joy to me :)
DeleteAir asia Delivery seems to have reached their target since they are too busy to deliver that day. Thanks for reviewing the food for this Don place. Let me see if they deliver to my area.
ReplyDeleteAs I understand, their area of coverage is bigger than the others. So maybe can deliver to you.
DeleteYea, I've heard of this Air Asia delivery but have not tried them out. I checked out the prices of Don by TSF and they seem pretty reasonable (RM13 - RM20 for donburi) but I see the portions are also pretty small for your standard (you'll need two...haha!). P/S: Those scrawny looking kittens don't look like they'll survive even with intervention. I came across that once and called a pet rescue and they told me the best chance for survival for a very young kitten is still with its mother.
ReplyDeleteDon by TSF is really good, I think you will like but then, some items are not crispy by the time of arrival. The portions could be all right for you :)
DeleteI am hoping that the orange cat that I saw could be their mama or their mama could be somewhere nearby. I will try to see if they are still in that area, just to check on them.
That was once I wore the wrong slippers, each one from two pairs (one male one female LOL), it was until I walked so far away from my home that I discovered my mistake, so no choice got to make do with it.
ReplyDeleteI had stopped ordering food online since we can dine out from June 2020 onwards.
All your orders from Don by TSF look good!
LOL! So funny!
DeleteHow nice that you can still dine out. Our government most likely will extend the MCO 2.0 beyond CNY. So no reunion dinner outside :(
Yummy dishes! did Belle and ah girl shared some of the food?
ReplyDeleteNo, luckily they were outside or else I have to share. LOL!
DeleteThose 2 kittens so skinny. Belle and Girl don't get along well? They are better at social distancing than some people. All the food look so delicious. I too tend to overeat during MCO.
ReplyDeleteBelle is the more friendly one and will approach Girl. But Girl is not receptive towards her. So sombong like that. LOL!
DeleteI was confuse because I thought you were order Asia Asia in flight meal but when I saw pork, I know I'm misunderstood. :P
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteHey PH, your link for Don By TSF seem not correct.
