I have been eating a lot. For the next few days till Sunday I am eating out. Because starting February 1st, I am conducting an experiment, for a mini thesis if you will. Not for any university, but for my personal interest.
Day #14 (Tuesday)
I came home to a very destructive child.
Day #15 (Wednesday)
heh...heh...heh... I was curious about the new KFC Golden Butter Cereal Chicken which was launched sempena Chinese New Year.
I specifically requested for drumstick and thigh but got a drumstick and a rib. Maybe they ran out of thighs.
But two! I guess people who like to eat those crispy bits will be happy but I did not like it. I took just two small spoonfuls.
The golden butter cereal coating tastes like those Nestum prawns that you get from Chinese restaurants, sort of. It was slightly sweet, buttery and savory. I'm afraid I did not like this flavor. Once is enough for me.
The Durian Balls were OK. Nice and crispy on the outside and chewy (but not overtly so) inside but the durian filling was disappointing. The durian flavor was too mild and the overall taste was bland. Needs more durian and a bit more sugar.
I think I will go back to the other KFC.
At least, they're both auspicious colours - the red salmon and the golden chicken.
ReplyDeleteYes, nice colors.
DeleteThis new flavour kfc is not for us too as he doesn't eat butter sauce. I think they don't put sugar into the durian balls fillings to keep it authentic. I like the taste of the durian balls cos very genuine taste.
ReplyDeleteI also dislike strong butter taste.
DeleteWhat thesis will you be experimenting on? Not eating out after Feb 1? So that's why you are eating all out now? Didn't know about the extrahuat code. Now that I know, I will use it. Hopefully still can use.
ReplyDeleteThe promo is until 07-02-2021, so you still have plenty of time to enjoy it!
DeleteAiyo these two kids. Maybe can get them a scratching seat or scratching bowl to scratch. I got a new cat tree for the tenant's room with jute ropes encircling the pole n the tenant can't help but to scratch the pole cos I think the jute ropes make him geram.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of getting one. Where did you buy yours from? It's hilarious that you refer to BoiBoi as your tenant. LOL!

DeleteI bought from this insta seller paws_empire_malaysia
Important is to buy a stable one with a large base because if y'all but base too small will topple. I share a video of my tenant, very funny
All your food looks good. Keep eating outside food by buying takeaway. Very tasty!
ReplyDeleteI try to do my part to support the food business.
DeleteOh dear! Your furry kids having scratching competition| Poor sofa. Now mama PH has to get new sofa. All your meals look delicious. I haven't tried the new KFC cereal chicken.
ReplyDeleteLOL! I may have to look into buying new sofas next year.
DeleteI love to eat poke bowls too. But I have to avoid raw fishes if possible, due to health reasons. I better explain in my blog.
ReplyDeleteMy sister shipped back her costly full leather L-shaped sofa from England and I noticed her cats do not scratch her sofa. She went to the local pet shop to buy all the scratch-trees or poles specially for her cats. They prefer to use that instead of sofa when their fangs are itchy. Try that.
I have read horror stories on worm/parasite infestation from eating raw fish. So I don't eat so often, but sometimes tempted as I love raw salmon and tuna.
DeleteSure, I am looking to buy those scratching poles.
Adoi, your destructive children. Yeah, get them a scratching post (lots on Shopee)...although I cannot guarantee they'll use it (Cookie used it for a while and then abandoned it). I think it's the type of fabric of your sofa that makes them love to scratch it. Try wrapping something around it (like your sarung or bedsheet) to see if that deters them from scratching it. P/S: Your avocado looks just nice and ripe. How do you select/know when they're ripe enough?
ReplyDeleteWhat I fear is that they will ignore the scratching post and I will waste my money hah..hah..
DeleteWhen an avocado is just ripe, it will feel soft when you press it and even softer when it is very ripe. The unripe ones are very hard. So if you buy an avocado that is still not ripe, just leave it on your dining table for a day or two for it to ripen. Test by pressing it. Once it feels soft, to slow down the ripening, keep it in the fridge.
It so happened that I bought this batch from Avocadian. You can tell the staff when you want to eat the Avocado and they will select ones that are of the right degree of ripeness. They will even stick a sticker on the fruit so that you can differentiate the riper ones (in case you might want to keep some for later).
I tried to refrain from eating raw fish and raw salmon recently too. Wonder if this Golden Butter Cereal Chicken is available in SG KFC.
ReplyDeleteIf got, I wonder if you will like it. I love raw salmon but I try not to eat so often. Scared of worms LOL!
