MCO 2.0 Day #18 : Belle Belle Terrorizes The Vet

That's Belle Belle back at the office after the visit to the vet. Does she not look adorable and angelic? Generally speaking Belle Belle is pretty adorable and benign at home but at the vet's she turns into a little monster.

The morning started well enough. After breakfast, I put her into the carrier.

I bought this big ass carrier via Lazada because the old one is too small and cramped.

Besides, I like the top loading.

It is so much easier to load the cat inside via the large opening rather than trying to get them to go inside via the front opening. It is a lot roomier and the cat can stand and turn around with ease.

Since I was working Saturday and the vet only starts work after 10:00am, Belle Belle had to stay in the office with me.

She didn't make much of a fuss and sat quietly inside the carrier. Once in a while she will make some noise and I would comfort her.

Before visiting the vet, I thought I would nip into Jaya Grocer to pick up some cat food because I ran out.

Alamak! There was a very, very long queue to get into the supermarket. Forget it! I walked back to the office.

Then it was time to go see the vet. That's where my adorable and sweet Belle Belle threw a hissy fit! She hissed and clawed at the vet. I had to help hold her down while he examined her.

Belle Belle has a bad ear infection and an inflamed gum. She also has a mild eye infection. It's just as well that Ah Girl does not want to go near her, or else the infection might spread.

Before treatment I requested for a shower for Belle Belle. She was very stinky (from the ear infection).

That's when she got super aggressive and fierce. She kept attempting to jump out of the tub and I saw the vet struggle with her. He had to retract his hand a few times to avoid getting bitten. I felt so bad.

Then when it was time to dry her up, another struggle. I think she was much better during the previous visits.

After she was all nice and dry, the vet requested for her to be put back inside the carrier (usually he will carry the cat into the examination room).

Belle Belle was given two injections (antibiotic and anti-inflammatory) and prescribed anti-histamines and ear drops. It looks like I would have to struggle to apply ear drops for the next few weeks. The tablets, I will have to put into her food.

Back in the office, I let Belle Belle out of the carrier and allowed her to roam my room freely. She went around rubbing herself against the furniture and settled down under my desk.

Then she saw it fit to take a nap.

She was clearly enjoying her snooze.

For lunch, I tried the Grabfood self-pick up from Mr Tuk Tuk @ The Starling. It's so convenient, just place your order and go collect within the appointed time.

I had Tom Yam Fried Rice which was excellent and paired it with a Black Pepper Beef.

That was a very good lunch. I was so full that I won't need dinner.

Next week it is Ah Girl's turn to visit the vet. Let see how that goes.

  8. Wow! People must be going to Jaya Grocer to buy their cny goodies already. So long q. Then for mr tuk tuk, u walk to starling mall again to collect? Or your partner waited for u in the car with Belle back from the vet while you go collect? The fried rice portion must be huge since you are full until no need dinner.

  13. Oh, Cookie is well known for hissing and clawing at the vet too. Only the owner of the vet shop dares (and has the experience) to handle him but even he has to cover his head and hold him down when he gives Cookie his injections. There was once when he was too difficult to handle, the vet had to give him his injection through the cage! >_< Don't the vet blow dries Belle when she's in the cage? Also, he used to bathe her with a cone over her head so she can't bite. Well, Cookie turns into a monster too during her baths. They only look angelic when they're asleep (like all children)...lol! :D

    1. Your Cookie is much fiercer than my Belle hah..hah... The vet gave her the two shots while she was in the carrier. I think he did that so that Belle won't go crazy on the examination table. Yes, he blow dry her in the cage but took her out for a more through drying. The cone somehow failed (it dropped off and he could not fasten it again) and he had a hard time trying to keep her in the tub while trying to fend off her attempts to bite. Haiz...

  14. I love the first photo so so so so much, Belle Belle looks so adorable in this photo. Ya, you are right, it is easier to load your cat from the top than from the side. Good and practical buy.
