Two Cats Double Headache

Two cats means two litter boxes, double order of cat litter,  double litter box duties, double cat food, double vet fees  and total takeover of my living room.

They have their nap time in the living room. Sometimes one on the floor and the other on the armchair.

Or one on the floor and the other on the sofa.

Oi! Where is mommy supposed to sit, huh?

Not even the coffee table is spared. Haiz.........

I am thankful that my partner is supportive of me keeping two cats although he is a much professed dog-man.

He has a nickname for Belle. Alice Cooper. Because of the dark ring around her eyes.

For those of you not familiar with Alice Cooper, I show you Alice Cooper.

I am sure you agree that Belle is better looking.

The day after she came home from the vet, she slept in the carrier. It's a new carrier that I put her in after the appointment with the vet (to avoid cross contamination).

My partner was not at home at the time, so I shared the photo with him.

There is a story behind the word "titon" (tidur = sleep). Many years ago when I was a struggling employee at an accounting firm, I used to take the Sri Jaya bus to work.

One morning I got a seat at the shared seating area and one passenger dozed off. There was an uncle seated next to him and I suspect the uncle was mentally disturbed. "TITON AH? HUH? TITON AH???!!!" he hollered at the poor passenger. Everyone just kept quiet and the sleepy passenger woke up. End of story.

I was watching the telly when Belle hopped onto the sofa.

She head butted my pot belly. Auwwww....so sweet and so cute....

One morning Ah Girl was checking her out.

And Belle surprised me by doing a belly roll.

I think Ah Girl was surprised too.

Belle doing a Superman impression.

hee..hee..hee...

Belle helped herself to every area in the living room including the cat bed that Ah Girl rejected.

Ah Girl was quite fed up and went upstairs to sleep in the spare room.

Yup, Belle did that. She messed up my books. Haiz!

Life with two cats calls for a lot of patience and effort. I have seen people who own more than two cats on Youtube and I wonder how they cope.

Now besides all the other things I have to do for them, I have to vacuum clean the house twice a day. Regrets? No. Not yet hah...hah....

  3. You will be blessed with more business and income for your kindness for keeping 2 cats. Life will never be boring anymore.

Remember my family friend who keeps over 20 cats at their sprawling home in Taman Seputeh? They have just 3 huge litter boxes only. Their cats sleep inside 2 air conditioned bedrooms.

    1. The recommended number of litter boxes is number of cats plus 1 extra.

  5. Belle is no where near as scary looking as Alice Cooper...hah..hah...hah! :D Belle is really domesticated (seeing her antics here) which makes me think she must have been a kept cat for a period of time before she was discarded). Belle has integrated herself well into your household...taking over everything, including Girl's sleeping spots. Her doing belly rolls for you means she really trust and love you (you mean Girl has never done that for you before?). Belle wouldn't mind Girl's hand-me-down cat bed at all. She's just so glad to have a home to call her own. P/S: that kind of cat bed, can it thrown into the washing machine?

    1. Belle can be scary when she is at the vet! hah..hah... I also reckon she had a home before. Oh yes, Girl has done belly rolls too and I find it so adorable. Now that you asked, I am wondering too. I need to check if that cat bed can be washed in the washing machine.

  6. Aiyo, this post really warms my heart. Belle and Girl Girl really made my day. So sweet la both of them. Not fighting but living together sharing the house with you. The sofa is so long so you can sit together on it with them. Thank you so much for taking Belle in. She is so sweet. You mentioned you out her outside because of her wet fur. Is that still the case? Poor Belle. Hope her wet fur will be better soon. Belle and girl girl sayang you so much. Must thank your partner too, for being so kind to both of them. I feel so sad to know Belle is an abandoned cat since she obviously is so used to living indoors. Life must be difficult for her on the street before she found you and you and your partner are so kind to take her in. Thank you both again.

    1. Thank you for your kind words. It's my pleasure to take Belle. Somehow when I first saw her, I immediately felt sorry for her and wanted to take her in. Her wet fur was due to a fungal infection. She has been treated and is on the road to recovery. She is still outside but has a comfy spot. I will only bring her inside again once she is confirmed fully recovered.

    2. Will she meow to be allowed into the house? Did the vet say how long it takes for the fungal infection to recover? Poor Belle, please get well soon so that you can go into the house again. Thank you again for taking good care of her. 💕💕💕
