No Water, So We Went to Mr Fish

This was last Saturday evening when there was water disruption. My partner and I headed to Pho Vietz @ The Starling for dinner at 7:00pm but we were informed that the restaurant was closed for the day.

So we had to think of an alternative and we ended up at Mr Fish. We have not been there in a long time. Shortly after our order was taken, the restaurant stopped accepting orders. Water disruption is bad for business and it has been happening much too frequently.

My partner had the porridge with fish fillet.

This is my curry laksa with fish fillet. Oh! It was so spicy! I have forgotten how good it was. I must come back again.

We also ordered two sides because we were very hungry.

Deep fried squid. Crunchy and tasty. Highly recommended.

This is the fuchuk with fish paste. Also very nice. We had to eat quickly because Belle was in the car.

Back home she had to go to jail hah..hah...

Then I saw her do what I see cats at pet shops do.

Yup, sit in the litter box. I should have lined the floor of the cage with a towel to make it comfortable for her.

I gave her food and water. She stayed in the cage the whole night without making any fuss. Good girl!

The next morning, I let her out. And the first thing she did was baptize my sofa. Arrghhh!!!!

Luckily I am used to this by now, thanks to Ah Girl.

After that she explored the living room.

Then it was time for me to go grocery shopping. 1 Utama re-opened that Saturday 17-10-2020. Someone asked me "You dare to go, ah?" (after the Covid-19 situation)

What dare? I was the first in line in the queue at the basement.

It was rather quiet.

Great for social distancing.

Wonderful.

We shopped quickly as usual.

When we left, the car park was still pretty bare. I am sure it will be different tomorrow.

Back home, in spite of no water from the kitchen tap, I trooped on with my food prep. Why? Because I had already planned ahead and there was a batch of chicken marinating in the fridge since Friday. If not, I would not have bothered.

So sien, I tell you.

Please. No more water disruptions!

  1. Ummm...where do they get the water from to do the cooking? I thought they would all close down for the day.

    1. I believe they have a spare tank and will use until the water runs out.

  2. Thank you for the Belle stories. She is a good and lovely girl. Where was Girl Girl when Belle was exploring the house?

  3. There must be something very attractive about your sofa to cats. 😆You are so kind to forgive them. So does Belle go to jail every night?

  6. I also dread not having water but luckily both recent times, the area here is not affected. Your house has a water tank so should be still ok for a few days.

  9. My sofas also experienced the same fate. Despite us buying the cats a scratching post. LOL

Give Belle a hug from me.

  11. Actually my sister has a huge leather L-shaped sofa which she carted back from ENgland. I noticed her cats only scratched their nails and stretched their backs on the carpet and other cat poles. Maybe you should invest in that too as the cats feel itchy with their fangs everyday. Strange creatures.

I love to eat at My Fish sometime ago. I need to pay a visit to try their curry laksa because you mentioned spicy hot. I like!

I have been going to 1-U since they re-opened and sadly, there is no crowd at all the day & night visits. I will blog about it later.

    1. I am surprised that the cats did not attempt to scratch the leather sofa. Maybe it is not scratchable.

Mr Fish has been quite consistent with their quality. Just that they are located at an obscure corner at the basement. 1 U is so quiet. I hope they can recover and people will be confident to viist.

  12. Glad to see Belle all tucked in. Once she gets used to the cage and it becomes a routine, she will not make a fuss when you put her in for the night (like what I do with Cookie). But because you also put her litter box inside, she doesn't seem to have enough space to lie down since she's quite big size. If she has done her "business" for the night (before you put her in), you can take out the litter box (they won't need to crap until the next day, at least that's the routine with my Cookie...although "accidents" can happen when they have an upset stomach but very rarely coz they usually "go" in the mornings). That way she'll have more space and be able to stretch out (otherwise you might want to invest in a bigger cage). Headache comes with the territory (I guess) when you're bring home a new 'baby'...hah..hah! :D Here's to Belle & Girl interacting soon! ;)

    1. I put Belle in the cage only that evening and now she is free to roam at night. But she is a quiet girl and snoozes very early. I noticed that she does her business in the middle of the night/very early morning. One strange thing is that her pee is in a big clump which suggests that she holds it the whole day and pees in one go (I think!). I have some stories to tell which I shall share soon!

  13. Belle is so well-behaved and not fussy like ah girl, she eats what was served and don't 'complaint' much with a small 'jail space'. The curry noodles looks good....now I m so craving for it! That day I went to Midvalley (after the confirmed COVID19 case) and the car park was sort of empty too....plenty of space for social distancing in shops and restaurants!

  14. The porridge.... I thought it was a bowl of soup =.=" I think that was grainy type of porridge where the rice was only partly broke, am I right?
Oh gosh, your sofa, was destroyed by the cats, I think this is expected when keeping a pet, right? >_<

  15. If the curry laksa is very spicy then i have to give it a miss as i cannot take too spicy food. Water disruption is such a headache and can cause so much inconvenience, hope it is solved right now.
