Food Prep Starts Right Now!

That's right. I have started my food prep engine again after it long sputtered to a halt.

During the recent 9.9 sale on Lazada, I went crazy and bought these.

heh..heh... as if I don't have enough containers. I bought four stainless steels containers, four glass containers and one stainless steel insulated mug. I was very pleased with my purchase and that spurred me on with my food prep plans.

Well, the first week, I used my existing containers because the new ones have yet to arrive. I prepped a whole bunch of food.

As you can see, I also included processed food (sausages) into my repertoire. I made mini meatloavesroasted capsicum, roasted cherry tomatoes, fried eggs, stir fried baby French beans and sumo soup

Last weekend I roasted some chicken, cooked some rice, veggies, boiled eggs, sauteed some mushrooms and sliced up some tomatoes and cucumbers.

This batch is meant for four days lunch and dinner.

This is some sort of chicken salad (dressing to be applied just before eating).

The rice dish with roasted chicken are packed separately from the veggies so that I can heat them up first before adding the sides.

The purple rice is a ten grain rice that I picked up at Aeon simply because it was on special offer.

These are the eggs, broccoli and mushrooms that I will add to the rice later. There is another side dish which I forgot to snap, Korean style brinjals.

Meanwhile in another part of Damansara, this was happening:

My brother was cooking paceri terung. Oh my! I should really get back to cooking Malay dishes again.

So there. Here's to more food prepping for wholesome home cooked meals.

  3. I am thinking of getting those containers too... have to wait till 10.10.. mine are mostly plastic, glass ones are good especially in the freezer. I can see your healthy and balanced meals there.. really take time too to get all these done. BTW, I am using the wok similar to your brother's... bought in La Gourmet during the anniversary sale, Shogun... no regrets, very nice to use and clean too!

  4. Yay to more food prepping! I see congratulations are in order on your new purchases....hee...hee..hee. All your food prep looks delicious...I can see myself eating all of them. Alas, I can only see...not experience. :'( I'm also imagining the joy of freedom I would have this week without having to cook. Can just reheat a tub or two, sit down in front of the telly and just relax. Ahhh, syiok-nya! P/S: That thing your brother cooked looks like one you need to eat a lot of rice with....are you sure you want to cook Malay dishes again? Kekeke...lol!

    1. Thank you! Thank you! It also saves me from having to go out for lunch/dinner. My pet peeve about eating out is that I have to make sure I don't go during peak hours to ensure I get a seat. Oh ya, Malay dishes need to eat with (more/lots of) rice heh..heh...

  6. wah….suddenly so gung ho about food prep! kudos! 4 days' lunch & dinner meals are not easy to prepare! u must have fully utilised your kitchen capacity (gas, utensils, veggies/meats/poultry/rice) just for that. So, Friday is a cheat day?

    1. Hello TM! Aunties like me are obsessed with containers! As long as I put these containers to good use, then it is worth the money spent. You are so clever, yes, I tidied up my fridge and had to throw out expired stuff to create more space.

    1. Oh! The old ones are still in use. I repurpose them for storing vegetables like tomatoes and other ingredients that need to be kept in the fridge. A football teams indeed - the food lasted me for a whole week. Yay!
