Our First Chinese New Year Together (Guest Post By Girl)

On Chinese New Year eve my mommy locked me in the house after she got home. So on CNY day I refused to stay inside.

She even took away my smelly rug. So in protest I am lying on her Marvel slippers. Frankly I think mommy is too old for this Marvel crap. But my mommy is very young at heart.

I sneaked up on mommy's bed when she was taking a shower. Ahhh....I had a nice stretch and would have taken a nap had mommy not chased me off.

I have done this before of course. Mommy was not pleased at first.

She tried to chase me off. I don't understand why she was so upset.

As usual, I ignored her and tried to look cute. It usually works.

Surprisingly on CNY day mommy was very calm about it. Not hyper like the first time when I scratched her sofa. Mommy has gotten used to my ways.

Later that morning, Kong-Kong, Mah-Mah and Chek-Chek came to the house. Kong-Kong kept calling me Tiger. Tigerrr...Tigerrr...he cooed. I think Kong-Kong is adorable.

But I ran away to the neighbor's house. And then I decided to come home.

Mah-Mah was very nice to me. Chek-Chek carried me on his lap. I left quite a bit of my fur on his tee shirt. paiseh...paiseh....

I soon learnt that CNY is a very busy time for mommy. When I want mommy's attention I simply holler MEEE...YEOWWW.... but this time she ignored me. She was stuck in the kitchen.

I was so bored that I fell asleep.

Mommy left the house with Kong-Kong, Mah-Mah and Chek-Chek. As usual, I prefer to stay outside when mommy is not at home.

When mommy came home, I reclaimed my spot on the sofa.

hee..hee.. mommy put back my favorite rugs on the sofa. Thank you mommy....

  1. Eeeeeeekkkkkkk!!! Wait till you see my cousin's. It would jump on the dining table and help itself to the food while they were eating! I would have "got rid of it" if I had a cat that did that. Bad enough that they always sleep on my cars. Tsk! Tsk!

    1. Oh dear! Luckily my cat does not jump on the dining table. She is quite good that way, does not simply jump on tables or cabinets. Only the sofa and bed. I will have to make sure she does not go into the bedrooms!

  3. Ooo, I love a guest post...Ah Girl 'writes' so well (and with humour too)..*wink wink*! :D Hee..hee...I see you've started calling yourself her mommy. I used to think people who did that was kinda weird until I became a pet owner myself and learnt that we treat them like our very own coz they shower us with love and we love them back too.

I did warn you that she'll jump on your bed one day...uninvited (cats love to sleep on soft places). Why don't you keep her indoors most of the time (and let her explore the outside world for a few hours each day), that way she'll be much cleaner and you won't freak out when she jumps onto your bed. Girl still needs some practice on posing as she's new to this internet fame (unlike Cookie who had a head start)...hahaha! ;D More guest posts, please.

Marvel slippers? I also want-leh but can't leave nice slippers on the porch as cats love to scratch slippers. Ah Girl must be well behaved not to scratch yours. Cookie doesn't scratch my slipper but one particular stray cat come in the night (daily) to scratch mine (until I threw that slipper away and he hasn't been back). >_< P/S: I tell you we share similar tastes (not only in food)...today is another coincidence that we both have the same starfish/seashell covers...what?! (though mine is not bed sheet & pillows, just cushion covers) :O

    1. Oh! Ah Girl will be delighted by your compliments hee..hee...I used to think it weird too when watching TV, those characters refer to themselves and mommy/daddy when talking to their pets! And now I also talk to my cat!

I tried keeping her indoors but she does not like it. She meows and yowls very loudly and it is really annoying especially when I want to sleep. But lately (though not all the time) she can accept staying in during the evenings, provided that she happens to fall asleep on the sofa. When that happens, no disturbance and she would only make noise in the early morning when I am already awake. Posing? She is terrible. When she sees me with the phone aimed at her, she chooses to look away or move away from her pose. Haiz... She needs lessons from Cookies hah..hah...

Oh yes, she does bite and scratch slippers (not the Marvel one though hee..hee..). In fact I have a video of her "attacking" my partners slippers. You have the same starfish/seashell covers too! This is scary hah..hah...
