Arrrgghhhh!!!!! I want curry mee!!!! So in spite of swearing that I would follow through with the keto diet, I caved in, my resolve crumbling in a heap.
This is the life! Spending the afternoon enjoying a hot bowl of curry mee and sipping on iced kopi o kosong. Now, what's with the pickled chilies? That's how my mum eats curry mee. So I followed. It's quite nice actually.
I usually have my curry mee with koay teow, my favorite noodle. But my mum always has her's with mee/meehoon or is it just meehoon, I forget. Frankly, I still prefer koay teow.
Now you ask me, what straw? Curry mee can drink with straw, ah? Can lah.
That's my mum. We had lunch at Annie-1 in November last year. Mum loves the curry mee. She loves it so much that she took the straw from her kopi o ais and sipped the curry mee gravy instead. That was how good it was.
This is me. I am not brave enough to use the straw.
I could instantly tell the black bowl and word textured table is from Annie-1. I love their curry mee to the moon and back! Your mum is hilarious and cute to drink with straw. Muahahaha
ReplyDeleteI will show your mum's straw sucking photo to the boss the next time I eat there.
hah..hah... My mum will freak out when she reads this!
Deletewah! drink curry with a straw! it must be very, very good! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was good hah..hah...
DeleteHow can one taste the curry if we drink it through a straw? As far as I know, it would just go down our throats immediately. I would rather take a spoonful to make sure it swirls around my mouth for maximum taste satisfaction...wuahahahaha! ;) Just like your mom, my default noodles with curry mee is always mee + meehoon (never kway teow) as I feel the curry clings onto them better instead of sliding off the slippery kway teow...haha. I love kway teow too but that is reserved for soup noodles only...and CKT, of course.
ReplyDeleteI think can still taste lah, let it linger in the mouth before swallowing hah..hah...
Deletelol! ur mum is cute! She has the same preference of noodles as my mum, and coincidently I also like only Kuey Teow noodles for my curry. But now, I think I m abit influenced by my mum too. I prefer mee+mihun or just mihun only for my curry. Reason being: the mihun can absorb the curry flavor from the soup and hence more flavorful in a bite. I haven't try pickled chili with curry noodles, usually just with belacan sambal.
ReplyDeleteAfter trying mee/meehoon, I still perfer koay teow. I wish that they served belacan sambal with the curry mee.
DeleteWowwwww!!! That sure looks good...and that's a big bowl! No, I would not bother using a straw, would just bring the bowl to my mouth and slurp it all down.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I didn't think of that!
DeleteI never drink curry from straw. Haha. The heat. How to drink from straw? Lol. Your mum so "keng"!
ReplyDeletehee..hee...
DeleteSame as contact i would not use a straw too hee hee, i will slowly sip the curry and savour the taste, usually curry i go with yellow noodles
ReplyDeleteMy mum want to drink faster I think LOL!
Deletegosh, that char siu makes the curry mee look even more decadent! :) i haven't used a straw either to slurp up the curry - but might be worth trying! :D
ReplyDeleteI love this curry mee as it is delicious and has lots of add ons in it!
DeleteHahahaha.... i sebenarnya pernah terfikir tau nak guna straw kalau makan mee berkuah ni. Tak sangka rupanya your mum dah buat dulu .....Bukan apa, cepat sikit settle kuah tu hihi.... Tapi jangan sampai tersedak! Tersedak memang pedihlah hidung tu
ReplyDeletehah..hah... LL terkejut jugak bila mum buat macam tu!
DeleteTell aunty now people go for strawless, so offer her a spoon to drink up the soup, hehe :P
ReplyDeleteYa lah, no more straws now.
DeleteNow I am craving for curry mee after visiting 2 blogs featuring curry mee! Next time I must try pickle chili with curry mee. I usually order curry with koay teow or beehoon, seldom with yellow mee. Maybe I will be brave enough to try drinking curry with a straw. Hahahaaa.
ReplyDeletehah..hah... But now restaurants don't give straw anymore.
