This was my lunch in November 2025. Ah, I have a few more carbohydrate meals from 2025 that I have not posted.
Gu On serves set lunches everyday between 11:00am and 4:00pm.
I chose the Pork Bone Soup with Pot Rice since I love their pork bone soup. And since I was curious about their Octopus Carpaccio with Seaweed Vinaigrette, so I also ordered that.
This was my set meal. It also came with side dishes - rolled omelette, kimchi, corn salad and a spicy condiment. The Kombucha drink was very refreshing.

Dear PH, the pot rice would be my favourite dish π
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it a lot too!
DeleteBy the way, I tried caviar just once and I didn't like it at all. I found it too salty.
ReplyDeleteI tried caviar a long time ago and I did not like it at all >.<
DeleteThank you thank you for this review. I will see when my spouse wants to eat lots of meat again at this place. We prefer this starling branch than the branch near to us in Sri Petaling ππ
ReplyDeleteVery welcome! Oh, then you must make a trip to The Starling. The set lunch is very worth it.
Deletethey gave you the almost repetitive banchans in the set meal....I don't mind coz i like banchans! yummmzzz! I have yet to try the branch in my neighbourhood Sri Petaling......This is now in my list...LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe banchans are refillable and you can help yourself at the banchan counter. Yes, you must go and try the food hee..hee...
DeleteOctopus is expensive...that's why so little (how much was the dish?). The marinated cabbage looked like cruncy jellyfish to me (in the photo). By the way, what's that black sauce all over it? Is it tapenade (a paste made from black olives)? I'm more familiar with a carpaccio made with just lime juice or lemon + olive oil or lemon + parsley/herbs...you know those fresh, citrusy, acidic flavours.
ReplyDeleteI can't remember the price but it was pricey LOL! Hmmm... I don't know what was that black sauce. I don't think I have had a carpaccio before.
