Chinese New Year Goodies

What is Chinese New Year without the munchies, right?

These were courtesy of my brother.

Ah, this looks familiar.

Pineapple Tarts

What's this?

Peanut Cookies. My late grandfather loved these.

These look like biscotti.

And indeed they are - Almond Biscotti.

I recognize these. Florentines.

Almond Florentine. My first time eating Florentine was here in 2015.

Will I eat these goodies? No. My brother knows I don't eat these, so he told me I could give them away (and make other people happy). So I gave them to my partner so that he can cart these back to Penang.

And then there were these two packets of bakwa (pork jerky). Although these are sweet, I will eat them but sparingly.

The goodies were accompanied by these cute piggies which I believe is from crochetsbyyan on Instagram. Well, Yan, you are very talented!

  1. Awwww....nice gifts, dear PH!!! The piggies are adorable! Very creative! The edibles look interesting, even though I am not familiar with them. I am familiar with peanut butter cookies, but the ones you are showing are not like the ones I know. Nonetheless, peanut butter is always nice.
I love the quote and illustration!

  2. Good morning PH, my mom likes the pineapple tarts I bought for the family for CNY. She said they are very tasty and not expensive. I bought them at around at S$9 plus per container. Ehhh I was thinking it is the year of the horse wor nonetheless those piglets are so beautiful and cute. So nice of your brother to 🎁🧧 gift you these goodies to make you happy. I have not eaten biscotti and Florentines before. And this is my addition to the quote, take one day at a time, don't think too far, cos you can never predict what will happen next. I like this post very much with all the lovely photos.
