Chinese New Year Day #1

On the eve of Chinese New Year, it rained in the evening. Yeah! That should keep the pesky fire cracker maniacs at bay hah...hah...hah...

But no, they were still at it although their activity was somewhat dampened. I could sleep peacefully and the next morning I decided to go out.

I went to Nasi Lemak Shop at Bandar Utama for breakfast. Yup I was going to eat carbs. It is Chinese New Year after all.

Chinese New Year is no fun without carbs, eh?

I was there at 10.00 am when it was all calm and quiet. But that did not last long as more and more customers arrived.

Ah! Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng and Ice Kopi C.

Totally worth the carbs! After the meal, it was off to 1 Utama for my mall walk.

The Chinese New Year decorations this year is not as nice as last year's (in my opinion). Since I was there late, my photos were photo bombed (due to many visitors).

It was all very ang-ang (red) as is usual for Chinese New Year.

Oh. Kenny Hills Bakers has set up a kiosk here.

Then I came upon Tim Hortons.

I went to the ordering machine to look at the full menu. Maybe I could come back at lunch. They have their breakfast set of donut and beverage.

Since I am no longer into sweet glazed donuts, it was not attractive to me. Besides their coffee is a bit pricey. So I did not come back. Maybe next time.

I love the cookware at Le Creuset but they are super expensive.

I remember my Singaporean blogger friend, Lotus, asked if we have Nitori in Malaysia. Oh yes, we do!

And then I was naughty. I passed by IlaoIlao and was tempted. I got the medium size with three toppings - strawberries, crunchy almond and wild strawberry sauce.

Oh my God! The sauce was so terribly sweet that I could feel my insulin hitting the roof ding! ding!!! DINGGG!!!!!

You should have seen my face shape shifting as I ate this frozen yogurt. Next time, no sauce. I'll just top with two fruits and one crunchy almond.

Then I quickly continued with my walk.

I did not go inside this shop because I neither have the body to wear the apparel nor afford it. My version of Victoria's Secret is my sarong wahahahaha!!!.

My last stop was Jaya Grocer to get milk and this 100% pure cocoa chocolate bar.

Because I did not stop for coffee, I made my own ice black coffee at home.

I clocked up more that 10,000 steps. Well done!

  3. Hi dear friend, it sounds like a great day.
I love Chinese and Japanese art. I have a beautiful silk housecoat that I wear in the apartment over my house dress. It is Chinese and bright red. The details are lovely.
    The quote is very accurate.
I love all the colours in your photos.
