I Was Naughty On Cheat Day


It was an epic cheat day. And when I say epic, I mean EPIC. It was after all (back in August) Merdeka Month, a time to celebrate, no?


At the time Halla Holla curated some new delights in conjunction with our National Day. 


It was my first time trying the Tandoori Sandwich which I thought was an excellent sandwich. I have had this sandwich a few more times.


The chicken was tender, well marinated and moist. The inclusion of a slice of onion made the sandwich taste even better, that is if you like raw onion, which I do.


Then I put in an order for desserts just because. This is the Blueberry Choco Banana Danish.


Look at those blueberries. Big and plump.


Nice. The blueberries were very juicy and placed atop chocolate mashed bananas. 


Oh dear. One more infraction.


I just had to taste it even though I know this is not good for me.


Coconut Panna Cotta. Topped with finely chopped Jackfruit (Nangka) and those red pearls like the ones in Thai red ruby dessert.


I took a spoonful.


The panna cotta had a fragrant coconut aroma and taste.


Not too sweet. I had the two desserts only once, even though I found them pleasing. Nothing to do with self control or discipline. Just that I am not as crazy as I was before but I am glad I tried the desserts.


Not pastries and desserts for sure wahahaha!!!

  1. Dear friend, great quote. Those blueberries and what is beneath them looks divine! Whatever that last, colourful dish is, it looks very tasty! The fact that it was not too sweet is very good. I am not sure about the Tandoori sandwich, but what is important is that you enjoyed it.
    Tonight I made a really good meal and I ate it all! I was so happy and proud of myself, because I don't eat a lot. Tonight my dinner was very tasty and satisfying and I cleaned my plate.
    I sauteed some lean minced ground chicken, browned it enough with a little avocado oil and butter, then added a chopped onion and kept sauteeing it until it was done. In the meantime, I prepared some rice. At the end, when everything was cooked, I scooped out the rice, making a bed of rice on the plate, added just a bit of butter to flavour and moisten the rice, then I scooped out the chicken and onions over it. I put garlic powder, salt and pepper and a little herb seasoning with the chicken and onions as I sauteed it.
    It was a fantastic dish and I am happy that I actually cleaned my plate, because I don't very often (unfortunately).
