It was an epic cheat day. And when I say epic, I mean EPIC. It was after all (back in August) Merdeka Month, a time to celebrate, no?
It was my first time trying the Tandoori Sandwich which I thought was an excellent sandwich. I have had this sandwich a few more times.
The chicken was tender, well marinated and moist. The inclusion of a slice of onion made the sandwich taste even better, that is if you like raw onion, which I do.
Coconut Panna Cotta. Topped with finely chopped Jackfruit (Nangka) and those red pearls like the ones in Thai red ruby dessert.
Not too sweet. I had the two desserts only once, even though I found them pleasing. Nothing to do with self control or discipline. Just that I am not as crazy as I was before but I am glad I tried the desserts.

Dear friend, great quote. Those blueberries and what is beneath them looks divine! Whatever that last, colourful dish is, it looks very tasty! The fact that it was not too sweet is very good. I am not sure about the Tandoori sandwich, but what is important is that you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteTonight I made a really good meal and I ate it all! I was so happy and proud of myself, because I don't eat a lot. Tonight my dinner was very tasty and satisfying and I cleaned my plate.
I sauteed some lean minced ground chicken, browned it enough with a little avocado oil and butter, then added a chopped onion and kept sauteeing it until it was done. In the meantime, I prepared some rice. At the end, when everything was cooked, I scooped out the rice, making a bed of rice on the plate, added just a bit of butter to flavour and moisten the rice, then I scooped out the chicken and onions over it. I put garlic powder, salt and pepper and a little herb seasoning with the chicken and onions as I sauteed it.
It was a fantastic dish and I am happy that I actually cleaned my plate, because I don't very often (unfortunately).
Linda, your meal sounds fantastic! I do something similar with minced beef, bacon and onions though I have not eaten with rice. I must try! I am glad you enjoyed your homecooked meal. I am very impressed that you used good fats for cooking - avocado oil and butter. I bought a bottle of avocado oil once (very expensive) but I did not like the taste and smell.
DeleteHappy Dong Zhi to you and your loved ones. Eating any tong yuen today? I didn't eat any.
ReplyDeleteWah, U r tempting me with your desserts photos 😋🤤
Happy belated Dong Zhi to you and yours too! No tong yuen for me. In fact I haven't eaten tong yuen for years!
DeleteThanks for the quote and I know what it means. The things that make me feel alive are eating well, blogging, journaling, jalan jalan, working, household chores, dancing, singing, listening to Vintage Showcase Classic Songs/oldies and plenty more! (And that's me, my lifestyle!). Next, thanks for sharing the presentable and lovely photos of your meal at Halla Holla. I know and like everything that you ate from your description. Savoury taste with the sweetness from the desserts is a smart choice. Today Sunday was a Jalan Jalan (roundabout SG) and makan makan day for me. Gosh! Now I have bookmarked so many makan places to try that I don't know where to start lol ! I gave myself a rest and break and it was an almost full day outside. Weather was good, windy, cooling and no rain wherever I go (not sure about other places, I was lucky). My friend does not like weather like this, rainy with dark clouds as she felt it is kind of gloomy. She likes days with bright sunshine, hah hah! I hope you had a good Sunday weekend too.
ReplyDeleteI like your lifestyle and mine is almost the same. I am taking a break from desserts, too much is no good hah..hah... I had a very good weekend, thanks!
