Indulging In A Christmas Special

Every festive season Halla Holla curates something for the celebrations.

Since Christmas is coming, these are the yuletide delights.

Noelle Spiced Bun, Assorted Ginger Cookies and Merry Berry Shaken Tea.

This is not for me since I do not like sweet drinks.

Ginger Cookies are not my thing either.

But a Spiced Bun? Ooohhhh.... I am a bread addict, so any bun especially one that has hints of cinnamon will get me!

So.

Two weeks ago I dropped by to enjoy the Spiced Bun.

Yes, warm, buttery and cinna-mony (plus other spices) with generous filling of dried fruits and sliced almond topping. The bun was not too sweet and the spices were subtle and not overwhelming.

Enjoyed with a hot Flat White. So good!

At the end of the week, I had the Spiced Bun twitch and I revisited. But bah! The buns were not available (sold out?).

So I ended up with a Salty Pretzel which was very chewy.

And iced Americano which was so refreshing.

A few days after that, the craving hit again. Bread is addictive and I openly admit that I am a bread addict.

So I went over after picking up lunch and newspaper for mum. One iced Americano and two (yes, two) Spiced Buns. That is a lot of carbs!

Actually one bun would have sufficed as it is quite a loaded bun. A small eater would need to share one bun. But this auntie can demolish two rather easily.

After satisfying my craving, I went to deliver lunch and newspaper to mum. Since it was a cool day (due to heavy rain the day before), I took a long walk to run off the glucose spike.

As usual I looked out for flowers along the way.

This cascade of Hibiscus was lovely.

Plants like these need regular pruning.

I love these "Bunga Tahi Ayam" (chicken poop flower. Hope you are not eating while reading this).

Then I came upon these lovely trumpet shaped flowers.

It was a very nice walk although I did sweat quite a bit.

But it was worth it to enjoy carbs hee..hee...

Tsk! Tsk! Tsk!

Oh dear dear. I must heed the wise words of Dr Mandell.
