I have not been to Soylab in a long time and it was my curiosity about their latest Genmaicha inspired desserts that prompted this visit.
The Genmaicha Meet Soy series piqued my interest.
So I visited one day at lunch.
Ordering and payment is made outside at the window before you step inside and find a seat.
Nothing much has changed in terms of the decor.
Besides the Genmaicha Souffle, I ordered a soybean milk (no sugar).
It was a 30 minute wait for the Genmaicha Souffle. All good things come to those who wait, eh?
Ah, look at that! When I was making my order, the leng lui (pretty girl) at the counter informed me that I could choose either Genmaicha or Genmaicha + Soy for the softserve ice cream. I chose the latter.
The softserve had a mild Genmaicha flavor and it was not too sweet.
The souffle was soft and fluffy with a thin crunchy crust made with sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and some sort of Genmaicha infused paste.
There was also a scoop of ice cream placed on top of rice puffs and topped with Yuzu jelly.
Well, it was a very nice experience and I know I was naughty to eat dessert for lunch hah...hah... hah...
After that a walk at The Starling.
And now for more flowers.
I love these yellow ones.
These pale pink ones are so feminine.
These purple ones are nice too though purple is not among my favorite colors.
These yellow clusters are beautiful.
This one is rather unique.
Dear friend, I love all your photos. The Christmas displays and cat π π» are a joy to see. The quote is very true.
ReplyDeleteThe presentations of the food are beautiful.
Thank you, Linda!
DeleteYour flower πΌ πΈ photos are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAh, we love beautiful flowers!
DeleteAh, that weekday I was at uptown, I wanted to eat at this place but was too full. Now after reading your review of this souffle combi, I am determined to go to uptown soon to eat it. Yums yums π
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a chance to eat this Genmaicha Souffle. I think you will like it.
DeleteThanks for the review and wishing you a wonderful weekend in advance πΊ πΉ
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers πΊπΉ
Have yourself a wonderful weekend too!
DeleteThanks for sharing the lovely and presentable photos of your meal, the walk around the mall with all the shop's displays and lastly not forgetting the amazing blooms and flowers. I love flowers and plants, but I am not good at them (no green fingers) and honestly speaking (I am not afraid to admit) I have a "phobia" of insects such as bees with stings and the crawlies lol (caterpillars etc) so I am unable to do gardening on a big scale. One pot or two still ok. I know the self-satisfying feeling you get when you see the colourful and pretty flowers (the results). Today my weekend Saturday was so far so good, thank god. Went back office in the morning (though I am WFH, I have to be back in the office once a week). Was on a full vegetarian diet whole day today. Lunch was yummy. I had Vegetarian Set Lunch at Zuya at S$12.90 + . The set comes with Vegetarian sweet and sour mock pork rice and add on of green lettuces, one lychee, pineapple chunks, cucumber cubes, tomatoes with tomatoe sauce. So hoi wai! The set also includes a soup of the day too (which was mock pork ribs soup with black beans). Still very nutritious, filling and satisfying though it is vegetarian cos have carbs (rice), veggies, fruits and black beans.
ReplyDeleteYour lunch sounds very interesting! The price of you lunch set is very reasonable (if I earn SDG$) but if converted to RM, it is pricey and most sets over here could be even more expensive. I am also geli of some insects and especially caterpillars. But I am ok with earthworms. Maybe because I know that earthworms are good for the soil.
DeleteJust a random question, does your side have NITORI (which sounds like HITORI meaning one person in Jap) which is similar to Daiso (which sells quite the same products but their prices are slightly on a higher end)? These NITORI stores sprung up in SG.
ReplyDeleteI had to google. LOL! Apparently there is a Nitori here at a mall (1 Utama) near my house. Maybe one day I can go check it out.
DeleteOh, more desserts! Glad you enjoyed this one too! ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, I did! LOL!
