Crispy Chicken Donburi
I went to Hartton Kitchen again.
I sat next to the window where it was nice and bright.
This time I ordered the Crispy Chicken Donburi.
It looked good on the menu.
So much sauce. Ugh! The topping was whipped cream (and not mashed potato as I initially thought) which was weird to me. This is not ice cream or cake. Some things just don't go together (in my opinion).
I would prefer no sauce or sauce on the side. So no, I did not enjoy this meal. I also disliked the taste of the cream.
Back home at makan (meal) time, Kittie Kat was relaxing while Girl was stuffing her face.
Then I noticed how she placed her hind legs.
I have a thing for cat's paws.
hee..hee..hee... I find it cute.
This is a nice photo of Ah Boi.
It is very rare that I can get a good shot of Ah Boi.
She is so black and glossy.
This was from before I replaced her old collar which had turned from pink to a dirty gray color.
My auntie in NZ sent me this photo of her lovely blooms. She shared many which I have yet to post. Perhaps I will work on it soon.
Dear friend, Amen on the quote! Yes! It is better to be alone than to be with someone who doesn't respect you or treat you kindly!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love all your photos, PH, and of course you know I am thrilled to see all these beautiful cats! :)
Sorry you were disappointment in a dish, I can understand. If a dish is too salty, too sweet, too hot and spicy or has too much sauce or condiments, I never enjoy it.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Amen to that indeed! That dish could have been good minus the sauce and whipped cream.
DeleteI wouldn't like the chicken dish at all because I don't even like whipped cream in desserts đ
ReplyDeleteDefinitely too much sauce đ
I would have difficulty finishing that dish đ
I found it hard to eat. The cream tasted like butter. It was all wrong to me.
DeleteThe photos with Kittie Kat, Girl and Ah Boi look like they are in a beautiful cafe. Your front porch area for them are set up so nicely đťa big thank you to mommy đť
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you hah..hah...
DeleteNo no, to whipped cream on that crispy chicken dish. If it is mashed potato, still can accept. Still look like mashed potato in your photos too, LOL! Good that you got a clear, sharp shot of Ah Boi. I have a thing for animals, other than cats. Your furkids have such comfy environment to live in, muacks to Mama PH. I have flowers in my house today as it is Chap Goh.
ReplyDeleteMy furkids keep Mama PH happy!
DeleteI was just about to say why is there cream in a savoury dish....then I read further. I would also think it'd be mashed potatoes (and agree too that whipped cream has no place in a dish with rice...so weird, my exact thoughts). The description did say full of soy flavour, so some sauce was expected but I think they over did it.
ReplyDeleteThat's where this dish (which could have been enjoyable) went wrong! I doubt if I would reorder even if I could request for the cream to be omitted and the sauce be served on the side.
DeleteArgh.... I don't like my rice doused in sauce too!
ReplyDeleteIt really spoiled the meal >.<
