Fried Fish and Curry Veggies

This whole week I ate out. It's quite fun actually and I won't mind eating out every week. But no. This Sunday, I am going to devote some time to prepare meals for me.

Ever since I saw this on the Hotpot1 menu, I have been thinking about it.

Do you like fried fish? I sure love it, especially with sweet soy sauce and chilies.

For my main meal I opted for the Mixed Vegetable Curry and  I put in an order for the Fresh Fried Seafish. I was charged RM10.00 for the fish and total paid for my lunch was RM23.00.

The fish was fresh and fried till crispy. I loved the chili dip that came with it - it was a blend of chilies, onions and lime juice (with some sugar). I could also detect a hint of bunga kantan. It was so refreshing and appetizing.

The curry was all right, the sort of curry you would expect at Chinese restaurants.

Of course I had to go back to Annie 1 for the curry mee (I accidentally deleted the photo) and wanton mee.

On this visit, there were lots more people.

There is nothing like satisfying a craving!

Annie 1's food is as good as ever.

Meanwhile, back home, my two children are keeping me busy and amused.

Belle Belle has come a long way since the time she came to me as a dirty and unhealthy stray.

I still remember this look that tugged at my heartstrings. She kept rubbing her face at the doorway. How could I not adopt her?

Look at her now.

So high class these days.

Belle Belle is a happy girl. I noticed one more positive change in her behavior - she no longer steals Girl's food and will wait patiently at her spot to be served. Good Belle Belle!

  1. The fish and the vegetable curry look so good! I love the dark looking char siew in your wanton mee. Ours here is all red, not all that charred, so unexciting.

I wonder how your cat feels rubbing its neck on the doorway. Looks like it's sheer ecstasy. You tried doing that before? I like rubbing my back, for want of a really good massage. Muahahahahaha!!!

  3. That fried fish sure looks delicious!πŸ˜‹I think next year only I dare to go Starling Mall to eat there and to eat the pork noodles at Annie 1. Both your girls look so contented. It is proof that your love for them has turned them around to feel safe and secure. Thank you so much πŸ’•πŸ₯°πŸ˜»πŸ˜Ί

    1. I think Belle Belle may have put on about 1kg+. She used to be so light but now she is heavier that Ah Girl.

  5. You mentioned that the fried fish was RM10 only, I assumed half portion can be ordered as the price stated in the poster is RM20.00. RM10 for that portion of fried fish is quite worthy also, hor...

    1. I am not sure if they gave me half portion or there is a promotion going on. I remember seeing 50% discount on something and some of their meals are discounted.

  6. I love to eat any type of deep fried fishes too! It would be perfect to dip with Thai Fish sauce and chilly padi too. Yums!

I have been eating on off at Annie-1 and never got sick of their top notch food! I still love their Curry Laksa Supreme which I would drink the soup to last drop.

The photo of Belle Belle rubbing its face on the door is so loving and really begging you to adopt her! What a good mummy you are. Heavens will bless you in abundance.

  7. I love veg curry and fried fish. The char siew wonton noodle looks delicious. Both Belle and Girl are well taken care of and they are so well behaved. They found the right mommy.

  8. Sometimes I think I don't even need the other ingredients - I'm happy with just the sauce and the rice.

  9. I love any fried fish (but preferably with some kind of soy-based sauce). I wonder what fish is that...it looked like there were two different fish on the plate (looked kinda dry though)! ;) Luckily, there's a veggie curry (that's enough for two based on the size compared to your rice!).

I guess we can't really blame Belle Belle for stealing Girl's food. After all, she's been a stray and when you're on the streets, you need to fight for your food otherwise you'll end up with nothing to eat. I've witnessed this myself when I fed the stray kittens & cats. Now that Belle knows food is aplenty and given, she need not have to hurry anymore.

    1. I am hopeless when it comes to identifying fish hee..hee.. The fish were not dry, nicely fried and I enjoyed it so much. As you know, I am not too keen on frying fish at home.

Belle Belle has adapted well but every once in a while she can be cheeky and goes for Ah Girl's bowl hah..hah..
