My Romantic Birthday Date Nite

It has been a long long time since my partner and I dined out together. We can't even remember when was our last dinner date.

Since it was my birthday and dining-in is now allowed, he took his madam to her favorite restaurant at 1 Utama, Chili's.

We made sure to go early because Chili's is a very popular eatery. But it being a Monday, we had no trouble getting a seat.

After looking at the menu, we placed our orders and I got us something I have never ordered before - a Margarita hee..hee...hee.... Someone sure was in a celebratory mood, eh?

So apa lagi?

Yum Seng!!!! kih...kih...kih...

The server brought two straws so that we could share the Tropical Sunrise Margarita (SauzaGold Tequila, Midori Melon Liquer, pineapple juice and a dash of grenadine syrup).

He insisted on a photo. So there you go.

Then the food was served.

No prizes for guessing who ate this - the Sante Fe Chicken Salad.

This is my order of Beef Enchilada. It was nice but I think it was overbaked and a little bit dry.

As we ate, I took small sips of the booze.

I am not much of a drinker (and neither is my partner). I was careful to drink only after taking my food (I did take a small sip just to taste) because alcohol on an empty stomach is not a good idea. I can't say that I liked this drink very much. But at least now I have an idea what a Margarita tastes like.

That's not all that we had.

Ooohhh... the Molten Chocolate Cake. My partner insisted that I must have cake for my special day. How sweet, right?

Then he chik chak his camera again. Haiz...

We both dug in, me more enthusiastically than him.

That was really good! Thank you, my lahling for the wonderful birthday treat!

OK lah, what the heck. To my readers and fellow bloggers, for your support of my blog all these donkey years (for which I am so thankful), I shall let you see my (auntie) face.

Do I look stoned or what?

  1. A Margarita? Thought they always have salt all along the rim of the glass? I hope you handled it well and did not misbehave. LOL!!! Oooo...the Molten Chocolate Cake!!! That sure tasted like heaven, I'm sure.

Hey!!! Are you sure that was not the effect of the margarita? You finally came out of hiding! Iwould too if I were you - you're so pretty and sure look young for 54!

    1. hee..hee..hee...oh no, the liquor was strong enough. If I had another serving, I might have done some funny things. The cake was really nice but as with these things, a bit too sweet.

Oh you flatterer you! I take all the compliments that I get with thanks, especially at this age. LOL!

    1. Eh, don't lah, terangkat I. LOL! My partner said the salad was good because this time they put enough dressing to coat all the ingredients.

    1. Thank you for the birthday wish, TM! I appreciate your compliments but seriously, I am very realistic about my looks - I am just a regular auntie. Maybe slightly better looking than market auntie wahahahaha!!!

  9. Somehow, after that first photo, I suspected that there'll be some 'unveiling' of some sort...and true enough (when I scrolled down)! LOL You certainly don't have an auntie face and look more youthful than your actual age (it's just a number). And, most of all, you're slim...and far from fat (as you've referred to yourself all these years). I knew you wouldn't be (coz I know people who call themselves fat are usually never fat..haha!). Count yourself blessed that you can stay slim even when you have a big tank. So, let's hear no more of diets and/or referring to yourself as fat from this day forward...ok? ^_~

Secondly, I wonder if your lahling brought her madam to her favourite restaurant....or to his (where he can have his favourite Santa Fe Chicken Salad)...wuahahahaha! But glad you had a good time.

Thirdly, don't let this margarita turn you off coz there are good ones out there. I had two (at a Mexican restaurant) that were really good (after bad ones where the alcohol was so strong). I think Chili's didn't do it well...it doesn't even look authentic without the salt-rimmed glass...and what's that wedge of orange doing there..it should come with limes-lah! :D P/S: I was told that if you drink alcohol with a straw, you get drunk faster..kekeke! ;)

    1. Ah..thank you for your compliments heh..heh.. In my head, I am still 15 years old LOL! Don't be so quick to draw conclusions. I was wearing a baggy sweatshirt and my fats are concentrated below the neck. In fact my dad remarked that I put on weight and my mum politely added :but it's nice" hah..hah.. But whatever, I am not so hung up on my weight like I used to.

Haiyo...my lahling...he refuses to try any other thing. At one time he used to stick to the fish and chips until he found out that they used dory.

I guess I will have to give Margarita another chance at some other place, should the opportunity arise. Eh, how come come drinking with a straw can get drunk faster? Let me do some research. LOL!
