Blah....No Mood Ler....

Haiz.... I have been very busy at work. Deadlines, deadlines, deadlines. At home, also busy, dunno do what. There is always so much to do. Housework is endless.

So anyway. In spite of the busyness, I took my cat to the vet.

This was for her vaccine booster shot. She was much better  behaved this time and did not make too much fuss. But the problem started back at home.

Just like before, after the visit, my partner and I dropped her home and we kept her inside. Then off we went and when we returned in the evening, she was very restless and whinny. My partner reckoned that the vaccination possibly made her feel lousy and she was just expressing her discomfort.

The next morning was no different. I let her out when we went for our morning walk, hoping that she would settle down.

At the park, the marigolds were blooming and it always gladdens my heart to see flowers and greenery.

We also saw some ducks.

At the end of our walk, we passed by the Malaysia Cartoon & Comic House.

One day we must come back to visit and see the exhibits inside.

Back home, after our grocery run, I had to get started on food prep. My cat was still fussy and whinny. It was very annoying hearing her making so much noise while I was trying to cook.

There was a whole lot of meowwwww.....meee.....aauuuwwww!!! Over and over again. Gah!

That's probably how busy mothers feel when their children are acting up.

Then in the afternoon, finally....

She was all zonked out.

And I could continue with my prep work and laundry in peace. Haiz....

This morning she was still super sleepy. She must be exhausted from all that whining.

Ah! I was curious about premium duck egg noodles that I read from EDKL and I ordered the premium noodles from Ma Noodles.

My first attempt at cooking the noodles were a bit disastrous but I nailed it in my second attempt.

I made noodle salad with it, topped with soft center duck eggs.

These noodles were chewy and springy and the sauce that came with them was rather good. I will do a proper post later when I am in a better mood.

So what did I prep?

Egg sandwiches for lunch.

Rice, protein and veggies for my early dinner. Shall do a post on this too. And show you that food prep sucks (hah..hah..) because it can be so time consuming (depending on what you prepare) but eventually when you see how much time you save on weekdays and enjoy the prepared meals, all the hassle is so worth it. I hope to get my blogging mojo back.

  2. Good to see that you are still exercising with your weekend walks. Girl girl must be feeling the effects of the vaccination. Fingers crossed she is back to her previous self now. Thanks for writing this despite being so busy. Good to read a post from you. Glad you feel that all the food prep is worth it with healthy home cooked food and savings gain. Keep it up!

  4. Looking at a park's garden is very serene and soothing to me too.

Why is your girl so whiny? Cookie does that too but would stop if I give him a good patting or rub (maybe you can try that as they sometimes want attention). If he's being naughty, I'll give him some assertives No-s, stop that and don't get mommy angry in a heightened tone and he'll usually stop in 5 minutes or so (you can also try that to see if it works).

I'm also eager to try these duck egg noodles and was pleased to know they come with sauce (since I won't know how to make a good sauce!). When you order the noodles with sauce (say 6 pcs), are the packets of sauce enough to go round or you need to order additional sauce? But then it got me thinking also that these wantan noodles need a good char siew (which I also don't know how to make!) >_< I'll end up eating 'kosong' noodles....haha! :D

    1. P/S: Ooo, one more thing I forgot...do you and your girl share sarongs (like mommy and daughter)? Kekeke! ;)

    2. Cookie is good that he listens to you. My Girl will look at me and then she will start her nonsense again. I did give her rubs which seemed to pacify her but as soon as I go off to the kitchen, she whines again. I should be more assertive! LOL!

The sauce is really good, very fragrant and tasty. I reckon each packet is just ngam-ngam nice for each portion of noodle. I actually used the sauce to make an Asian style salad dressing. Instead of char siew (which is of course ideal) you could cook braised pork and serve with the noodles. I tried cooking and rinsing the noodles the way they suggested but ended up with soggy noodles the first time since I am lacking in technique. Then the second time, I just rinsed the cooked noodles under running tap water and it worked!

hah..hah.. my girl was sleeping on my old sarong that I use to line my exercise mat :)

  8. Your girl is just like babies when they go for their jabs. After the jabs they become fretful and unsettled. I like the look of the noodle, looks delicious. I also like the place you went for your walk. So many things to see and flowers to enjoy.
