Woodfire KL, TTDI

Last Saturday, my brother and I ventured out to nearby Taman Tun Dr Ismail for lunch at Woodfire KL.

We were a bit early and since the restaurant was closed (they open at 12:00pm) we took a walk around the plaza where I spotted this lonely Christmas tree.

Ten minutes later we returned and we were the first customers of the day.

The interior is neat and simple with some wall decorations.

My eyesight is very poor (and I did not bring my reading glasses), so I could not see (read) what this is all about.

My brother did go around to take a look and informed me that the photos were taken at some events and there was also a board showing photos of their staff members (Flame Squad Wall).

Ordering and payment is made at the counter and the menu is up on the board.

We ordered a Brisket Platter, Lamb Ribs, Stuffed Cheese Burger, Smoked Burger and two bottles of mineral water (because there is no coffee hah..hah...).

At the counter we saw these two items which are new to the menu.

The mineral water was served with these two paper cups which were filled with ice. See, we were so well behaved, did not even order milkshakes. I used to love milkshakes but not anymore.

First to the table was the Brisket Platter. It came with four buns, BBQ sauce and a sweet mild mustard.

There were three slices of tender and moist brisket. It was however missing the smokey flavor and aroma but still, this was a decent brisket.

Now the buns. When my brother had his first bit, he was like whoa!!! Roti Paung! LOL! The buns were very soft, fluffy and well toasted with a generous spread of margarine.

I agreed with my brother that these buns were awesome (though I am not in favor of margarine).

Then the burgers. For the burgers, you have a choice of beef or chicken patty. And you know my sentiment about chicken patty. It is a no no. Both of us (naturally) opted for beef.

My brother's Smoked Burger.

And my Stuffed Cheese Burger.

We loved the burgers a lot, a lot, a lot!!! One of the best burgers I have eaten in a long, long time. We have to revisit for the burgers. Besides, I find the pricing for the burgers very reasonable.

And then the Lamb Ribs. This was served with the same sauces and curly fries. The lamb ribs were also tender and moist, again no distinct smokiness. We also enjoyed the fries.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal here with the stars being the burgers.

It was a hearty meal and when we next visit, I'll stick to the burgers. I think I may need two wahahaha!!!
