No More Hoot

Today I had lunch at Halla Holla after visiting my mum.

I noticed that they have a new neighbor.

Previously it was The Neighbour Hoot.

And now it is Village Steam On Chicken Rice. Opening 29-12-2025.

So it looks like The Neighbour Hoot was short lived and I can understand why (after my one and only visit).

So. This Village Steam On Chicken Rice obviously is a Chinese restaurant specializing in steamed village chicken rice as their name suggests.

Ah! I like what I see.

I loved steamed kampung chicken.

Hmmm....this restaurant (if their food is good) may fare better.

At Halla Holla I had my favorite iced Americano.

And scrambled eggs.

The eggs were fluffy and creamy and so delicious!

This was Girl early this morning.

I fed her a can of her favorite Cindy's Recipe fish.

On my walk back from DJ I snapped this beautiful red flower outside a neighbor's house. And their dog barked at me hah..hah...

  1. Girl is happy to eat her favourite fish and to sit on her favourite sofa.
Kampung chicken meat is too firm for my weak teeth because the kampung chicken did a lot of exercise so their meat is firm ๐Ÿ’ช

  2. Girl, you look so pretty and cute in your golden colour ! I am sure Grandma enjoyed seeing you eating fish, resting on her sofa and keeping her company. In my neighbourhood there are many well fed stray cats and dog owners walking their dogs, most of my neighbours are friendly enough to let me pat their dog and have a small talk with them and I enjoy that. Oh, Kampong chicken? I did not have good experience with Kampong chicken at Boon Tong Kee Restaurant with its yellow skin.

    1. Oh, you don't like kampung chicken. I love it and prefer it to regular but it is more expensive.

  4. Enjoy your weekends Dear! I am thinking of patronising Itacho Sushi for its premium sashimi tomorrow Sunday, if I do not want Tuna, they have yellowtail sashimi too. I go by moderation method. Sometimes I eat healthy, sometimes I indulge, life is short, you never know when you will depart from Planet Earth. Have a happy, peaceful, productive, enjoyable and relaxing weekend! Talk to you again.

  5. Well, if the restaurant made you only visit once, their fate is sealed...lol! Small portions (and making you adjourn to have a second meal) may have been their death knell. P/S: Glad to be back and well enough to at least start reading blogs & commenting coz I've been unwell for the past 10 days. It was a long road to recovery...but I'm getting there.

    1. Oh dear, I am sorry that you were unwell. I hope that you are on the mend. I was not feeling too good either for the past 1-2 weeks, like I was going to get the flu. I wish you a full recovery!
